I didn't care that they kept trying to talk me out of it, they didn't understand how important this was, we had to be seen as willing to work with humans.

"How do you even know that he'll want to meet with you?" Dominick said as I started getting ready to go.

"Because I'm going to make a public announcement from the front steps of the House of Winterstein headquarters, he can't deny me then otherwise he will look like he's not willing to work with us" I said.

"I have to admit that's a good idea" Emil said.

"We need to be more progressive thinking than the Brotherhood and you know that right now they're closing ranks and not talking to anyone, we need to let the world know that we're growing but we're willing to work with everyone" I said.

"Now you see that's why your family has been alpha since the beginning" Emil said.

A few months ago I had lived the Brotherhood's belief in that the turned were beneath and humans couldn't be trusted, but now I'm part of the House of Winterstein and we needed to be more open than the Brotherhood.

They would understand but only if this works, so while I was still riding a high from Cora's special tea I made the invitation for reverend Phillip Moore and his people to come and have a sit down with me and my people, the news people of course wanted as much story as they could get and kept asking questions but I cut them off.

Then I went inside to talk to Johannes and the others, just to see what's been going on while I've been sick.

They were waiting in the conference room when I got there, including Genesis and Kristoffer.

"Avery I'm not sure if inviting the humans into this is a good idea when we're not off the ground yet" Johannes said.

"We're letting Grant and his friends in" I said.

"That's different, they're heads of important agencies. What you're talking is actual humans with ties to hunters" Johannes said.

"I'm trying to show the humans that they don't have to fear us and the best way to do that is show them everything, history is filled with the casualties of human fear dating all the way back to the beginning" I said.

They all looked at each other before Johannes finally looked at me.

"I guess you're right, we'll leave that up to you though" he said.

"So how are things with Grant?" I asked.

"He accepts that we can deal with the Brotherhood, but he thinks we could use some help until we become more established" Emil said.

"Actually I've been thinking about it and I want a sit down with Jeremy as well" I said.

That really got a response from them, even Emil and Dominick who only knew that I didn't want to deal with Jeremy right now.

"Avery he almost killed you" Johannes said.

"I know that, but right now I think we need to talk to him to get him to back off for a little bit" I said.

"And what if that doesn't work? I mean you did kill his father" Emil said.

"Trust me it'll work, I've grown up with those fools and I know what buttons to push" I said.

"I'll reach out" Emil said.

He was older and had been running a Brotherhood when he left, so I thought it would be best if he was the one to reach out because they might have more respect for him, but there was also the fact that he helped threaten Jeremy to try and get the antidote for me.
