"Are you ready for this?" I ask my best friend.

"Delilah, just show me what it is?" Peter says.

I open the door to our new apartment. It's exactly how we've pictured it. View of the city. Two bedrooms. A huge kitchen. We sound like a couple who's been together forever but, we're just close friends who never plan on getting together because when we did, it just didn't work out. Besides I already have a boyfriend and he has a fling.

"No." Peter starts saying with a smile.

"Oh yeah." I say

"Oh my god!" He yells before we both jump up and hug each other. "Did you already sign papers and get keys?"

"Two things. One how the hell do you think we got in here. Two you know that paper I said the one building we liked wanted us to sign? That was it!" I say as we both start screaming.

"God." He says starting to settle down as we just have one arm over each other's shoulders. "You know, everything is going in the right direction. We're living in our dream city, both accepted into our dream college. Living in the perfect apartment other than it's one bathroom too short but nobody gives a shit about that."

We then went out to Target to get kitchen stuff. Things like pots, pans, silverware. We just got a whole bunch of stuff for the apartment. We set it all up at the house.

The next day we got up and went back home to pack for the next two days. My boyfriend Carter came to help me. Fifteen boxes later, I have all my stuff packed and in my car.

"Be safe, sweetie." My mom says as I hug her and my dad good bye before getting in the car.

"You ready to begin your new chapter?" Carter asks me.

"Yeah, I am." I say before starting the car.

The drive to Rochester from Pittsburgh. Four hour drive here we come. Once we reached Ripley, we switched so I could do some photography on our way there. We get back on the freeway and turn on the air conditioner and point them all towards Carter. His blonde hair blowing in the air looked amazing so it was the perfect chance I got to take a picture of him. I got the perfect shot of him. So, I turned down the air conditioner before putting away my camera.

"Did you set ground rules with Peter?" Carter asks.

"What? Babe." I say.

"I'm serious does he know-"

"Carter!" He starts laughing a bit.

"You know I'm kidding. I trust him." He says before I punch him a bit.

After a while, I just gazed out the window. Within a matter of just a couple of hours we were finally in Rochester. We arrived to the apartment and first thing I did was bring in a few boxes and take them to the room I already chose as mine. My bed and dresser are still in the car, so, I set my stuff where I don't plan on setting my bed and dresser at. Once I had all my stuff in, Carter helped me put together my bed and dresser. This finally gave me a chance to put away what I could.

"Do you need any help putting away your stuff?" He asks.

"No, if you want to help though, you should go get us a pizza." I say while giving him a hug. We give each other a quick kiss before he heads out to get the pizza.

I make my bed and put everything in my drawers. Once I had everything put away, I walked out of my room and into the living room, and then it hit me. I'm living in my own apartment. I felt a tear rush down my cheek and I just start bawling. The door opens and it's Peter. He drops what he has in his hands and runs over to me.
