Chapter 9 The Battle of Helm's Deep

Hours passed and we finally got prepared enough to stand and fight.

Nervous.

The only emotion I have right now.

I looked to my right, where Legolas stood. And to my left, Gimli stood. I was scared for Aragorn. He had to captain his side of the kingdom.

"You could've picked a better spot!" Gimli muttered snapping me out of my thoughts. Legolas chuckled. I smiled a little to myself.

I felt a hand intertwine with mine. He squeezed his a little and I felt a blush creep onto my cheeks.

And to make things worse, thunder started to roll in. Lightning flashed and made me flinch.

I heard Aragorn approach behind us yelling at men to prepare and stay put.

"Well, whatever luck you live by lad, lets hope it lasts the night." Gimli said.

The once black sky was now illuminated by the torches of the Uruk-Hai. The loud grunts and thudding of the frightening creatures rang through my ears. I saw out of the corner of my eye, Legolas' own eyes widening at the sight in front of us.

"Your friends are with you Aragorn!" Legolas called to him.

"Lets hope they last the night." Gimli commented.

The Uruk-Hai stopped there marching and roared in the black language.

"What's happening out there?!" Gimli demanded.

"Would you like me to describe it to you, or shall I find you a box?" Legolas asked. I giggled.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw an old man readying his arrow when it slipped and hit an Orc in the neck. Dead.

They started to yell in anger and bang there metal armor.

"Hold!" Aragorn cries in elvish. "Prepare to fire!"

"There armor is weak at the neck and under the arms!" Legolas yells.

"Fire!" Aragorn calls. All the arrows were realeased and the first few hundred orcs fell to the ground.

"Did they hit anything?!" Gimli asked impatiently.

A trolley came flying by our heads to hit dead center of the orcs.

The Uruk hai took ladders and set them against the walls and began to climb up.

"Ladders!" I yelled.

"Good!" Gimli said.

"You and me both Gimli." I smirked.

I let out a load battle cry as the orcs came running at us. I sliced an arm off then plunged my sword into it's chest.

Same with three more. I decapitated one and another. One came at me and I was unprepared. It would've pierced my heart if I would've kicked his legs under falling to the ground giving me a chance to stab him.

I slashed one of there faces which made them even more mad. It took out a dagger and threw it at me. I dodged it with my sword and grunted. I ran at him and slit his chess open which caused my arm to erupt in pain. I let out a blood curling scream but paid no mind to it.

I stabbed about seven more and decapitated four.

"Legolas! I'm on two already!" Gimli shouted over to him.

"I got seventeen!" He yelled back.

"Sorry boys, but I got 21." I said with a smug grin. They both stopped and starred I grinned and stabbed another.
