"I'm so tired Trevor." Marah said laying her head on my shoulder.
"Marah let me see your arm." I demanded. She slowly pushed her arms away from me.
"I didn't today." She said quickly. Now she was trying to push her already over sized long sleeves down.
"Okay, then prove it to me." I said challenging her. She looked a little nervous but she rolled up her sleeve where the marks where gone.
"See, just a little bit of eczema." She said as if everything was okay. I was almost about to believe her when I saw something a little off from eczema. It was brown with little black specs. I knew exactly what it was.
"I'm glad that everything is okay! You look like you have such smooth skin!" I said rubbing that exact spot. She winced and pulled away. It was a recently healed cut covered in makeup just like the rest of her arm.
"Stop that!!" She yelled.
"You can't lie to me Mars." I told her. She looked away trying to make no eye contact with anybody like she always does when someone notices a scar.
"Hey Marah! Hey Trevor!" Said Erika skipping to our table in the lunch room. Following straight behind her was Streets.
"You don't even have this study Streets." Marah mumbled into my shoulder.
" I know, but I don't give a flying, swimming, walking-" Streets started but was cut off by Erika.
"Hey! Watch your langue Rachel." She warned. Streets just sat I silence.
"What's with Marah?" Asked Erika. I looked down at Marah for the okay and she nodded.
"She's been... Ya know....." I began and then dragged my finger from one side of my wrist to the other. Erika gasped and started to tear up. I think even Streets looked a little shocked. I was surprised that that they were. Everyone in our group of friends knew that she did this. Marah got up and walked away crying. Erika was about to get up and go after her but I stopped her.
"No, no, just let her go." I told her. I knew Marah the best out of anyone here. Marah never really talked much, especially anything about her depression. She only really talked to me about it. I mean all of her friends knew that she had depression but every time she would do something bad about it everybody seemed so shocked. It stressed Marah out anytime people acted like they were worried about her. She never was one to open up or get help. She would just leave if people tried to help her because she would get nervous and her anxiety would act up triggering her depression. As much as people wanna help her, during these times you just need to let her be. I knew the most about any of this. It pains me to see her like this.
"Hey guys!" Said Ben as he stood at the end of our table.
"H-h-hi Ben." I stuttered.
"Do one of you have a piece of gum?" He asked. I blacked out. Once things got clear again he was gone. I saw him sitting at another table chewing gum nonchalantly. I guess I was staring because he looked at me in the eyes and waved. I looked away as fast as I could. I just stared at my textbook smiling like an idiot.
