Cami

The music blared through the walls of the house and pounded through my body, creating a living electric bolt zinging throughout me. I danced around to the beat of the music with Nat clutching my waist, swinging us together side to side. I had never felt so ALIVE.

Xav weaved between dancing students, holding onto Pat's hand. He grinned when he saw the two of us. "Hey," he bellowed. "Wanna grab a drink?" He gestured the cooler in a corner of the room.

I nodded. "Yeah, cool. I'll take a coke." I looked directly at Nat. "He'll definitely take a beer."

Pat stayed with me as her date and my date went to collect the beers. "So, how're you finding the party?"

I laughed. "It's great. And anyway, when did you and Xav–"

"Since last night," she interrupted, her cheeks rosy red even under the flashing lights, "we've gotten really close. He – he proposed to me."

I beamed I was so happy, "Oh my God. You're getting married to Xav Kennecott! This is bloody incredible! Am I going to be a bridesmaid?"

She laughed. "Of course not, you're gonna be my Maid of Honor and the Best Man is gonna be your hot mess of a boy."

I pouted at her compliment on Nat.

She rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on. You know it's true."

Ignoring it finally, I smirked, still jumping up and down like a cheerful toddler. "Ooh, when's the wedding?"

She chuckled nervously, still blushing. "Well, we've only thought about it last night. But we came to a conclusion that it takes place in February."

"Babe, that's only in a month! We have some serious work to be doing." We both laughed in hysterics. I couldn't believe my best friend was getting married to the second cutest boy on the planet. They had been at their relationship for a couple of weeks now and they were already so deep. I was urging to ask Xav if he'd figured out Pat was his soul mate if they were getting married so quickly. They looked to be. Pat was just a witch, who has her powers hidden, and doesn't even know she has them.

The boys came back, bottles in hands, and they both swiveled our bodies around and put their arms around our waists. I craned my head back to find Nat's lips. They tasted of beer and oh, so good. I broke away first to see the sweetest sight ever. Pat was turned around, the opposite to me, and she had her lips pressed to Xav's whilst he cupped her face and caressed her neck and her hand tangled in his hair. They broke apart to notice that Nat and I were staring at them.

Pat giggled nervously. "Sorry," she muttered.

Xav chuckled. "Why are you saying sorry? We don't have to be apologizing. They should for invading our personal space." He tugged her closer.

My mouth sagged open. "Fine, you guys have your space," I grinned, "I'm going to find the others."

Xav shook his head. "Nope, too late: my man and I are going to go to the bachelor side of the house. Come on, bro." He tugged on my Nat.

"They're other girls here? Strippers," I blurted, absolutely flabbergasted. That's what a bachelor party was, right? The tradition where whilst the bride was having her side of the night-before-the-wedding party, the groom and his boys went out for their own bachelors' party, with women, on their last night of being – legal by documents – single. I wondered if they were doing this because of the wedding but with all the boys oblivious to the fact. I hoped Xav would tell them or maybe postpone their bachelors' party to the traditional date...
