Regina's pov

I watched as a black van pulled into the driveway. I opened the door swiftly and walked out to meet them. I watched as Emma got out of the car. I was shocked.

When I adopted her the papers said she was 1 this girl looked to be about 10.
"Hello Miss.Mills I'm Mrs.Carson Emma say hello." She said nudging her
"Um hi." She said bitterly
"Hi." I said standing a little straighter
"May I talk to you for a moment?" I asked the social worker

"Yes." She said and I pulled her to the side
"I believe we have a problem." I said rubbing my temples
"And what would that be?" She asked
"This child is ten the child I signed for should be 1." I said angrily but I hushed tones

"Fist off she's 12 second I'm sorry Miss Mills there must have been a mix up with the paper work." She apologized
"I would think a child care organization would be more careful with their children's information." I scoffed
"We are truly sorry would you like another child?" She asked

"No this child is fine." I sighed
"Alright then I guess I'll leave you to it." She huffed getting in her car waving goodbye to Emma
"So Miss.Swan would you like to see your new home?" I asked hesitantly placing a hand on her shoulder

"Sure." Emma said half-heartily as she hiked her backpack up onto her back
"Alright this way." She said
I looked to the girl and as soon as she stepped inside she looked shocked to see the beauty of my home. "So you like it?" I asked gesturing to the home

"Yeah um it's cool I guess do you have a bathroom I could use I've been holding it for like ever." Emma asked
"Yes go up the stairs and second door on your left." I pointed and she nodded quickly entering the bathroom I entered the kitchen figuring I would make my famous Apple cobbler when my phone rang

"Hello." I said
"Yes this is Mrs.Carson Emma's social worker." She said hurriedly
"Yes?" I asked
"I just forgot to tell you to keep an eye on Emma for the first couple of weeks she's what the people at the hosing office like to call a runner." As soon as I heard that I bolted upstairs

I knocked on the door. "Emma are you in there?" I asked sharply hoping for a reply
I heard a mumble then the flush of the toilet then the sink turned on then off rather quickly. I was about to knock in the door again when it swung open.

"Need to use the bathroom?" Emma asked smugly while nudging past me
"Um I was just checking on you." I said in a rather motherly tone
"What worried I fell in." She said rolling her eyes

"No I guess I just wanted to make sure you where settling into your new home."
