Coke cans, wrappers, chewing gum,
Ever present, yet we never hear your work's hum,
You relentlessly labour, tirelessly brush,
While we ignore, wrapped up in our routine rush,
Always there, shopping centres, airport,
Blend in the background, polish, scrub, and sort,
Anytime, anyplace, hospitals, schools,
Society's unappreciated tool,
Mop, dust, unnoticed, undetected,
Endless rubbish, mounting mess, you remain undaunted, unaffected,
You prowl on, unsung heroes,
Yet you get treated like nothing, zero,
So for once, for all that you do,
Janitors, cleaners, caretakers, I'd like to say thank you.
