*Jake’s POV*

I went out of my bed, my legs were stiff but it didn’t take long to stretch them out. I couldn’t really sleep anymore so I went to ask if I could see Andy.

I walked down to the reception where a young girl, probably in her mid-twenties, was sitting, typing something into the computer.

‘’Excuse me?’’ I asked quietly.

‘’Hi, what can I do for you, Sir?’’ She asked, looking up from the screen.

‘’I want to know if I can see my friend Andy Biersack. He was in an accident earlier today.’’

‘’Yes, you can see him, but you can’t go into the room because of health reasons, there is a window you can look through.’’ She gave me the directions.

‘’Okay. Thanks for the help.’’ I said and smiled at her.

‘’You’re welcome. Oh, one last thing, there might be another person when you get there.’’ I nodded, almost sure of who it was.

It was just around the corner, I could hear someone talk but I couldn’t hear what was said. I just stood there, listening. After a pause I could hear the person say: ‘Say you’ll never leave me ‘cause I  need you so much...’ Just as I thought. I stepped around the corner, seeing Ashley standing at the window with a hand on the glass.

‘’Ashley?’’ He didn’t say anything, he only let his hand slowly fall from the window. I walked closer, not taking my eyes of him. As I came closer he turned around to look at me, I could see the tears rolling down his cheeks.

‘’I’m so, so sorry, Ashley.’’ I said as I pulled him into a tight hug. He sobbed harder into my shoulder. We stood like that for about a minute. He pulled away from me.

‘’He’s not gonna make it, is he?’’ He asked, turning to look  at Andy.

‘’Of course he’s gonna make it.’’ I laid a hand on his shoulder.

‘’I somehow find that hard to believe.’’

‘’Well, if you don’t believe he’s it, then he’s definitely not going to. He’s strong and so is his love for you.’’ After I said that he just looked up at me, removed my hand from his shoulder, I couldn’t see if he was upset or angry. It actually scared me, the way he was looking at me. I mean, his eyes looked so empty and his face looked like a skull. He looked back at Andy. I looked at him as well.

‘’This is all my fault.’’ He said after five minutes of solid silence.

‘’What?’’ I looked at him, confused.

‘’It’s my fault.’’

‘’What? Why? What do you mean?’’

‘’Do you know where he was earlier? Before the accident?’’

‘’No, no I don’t.’’

‘’He was at my place, asking if I wanted to try again, to start over but... I said I had to think about it...’’

‘’That doesn't make it your fault.’’

‘’Yes, it does ‘cause if I’d just said yes from the beginning then-then he would’ve stayed over or something, but instead, I had to think about it.’’

‘’I still don’t see how this is your fault.’’

‘’It is my fault, Jake, because I absolutely had to fucking think about it! If I’d just said yes this wouldn’t have happened! You wouldn’t have been in that accident, you wouldn’t have broken your arm and Andy wouldn’t be in a fucking coma! We would not be standing here if I’d just said yes!’’ He just flipped at me, completely lost his shit, swinging his arms around, trying to hit me, tears streaming down his face. I took a hold of his wrists and pulled him into a hug.

‘’Hey, shhh. It’s gonna be okay, he is gonna be okay. I promise.’’ I said with a soft voice.

‘’I just want him h-him b-back.’’ He said in between sobs.

‘’I know, Ashley, I know.’’ We stood like that for about three, maybe four minutes before he pulled away.

‘’I’m tired. Can we go back to your room?’’ He sounded like a little kid.

‘’Of course we can.’’ I started to walk back to my room.

‘’I love you, Andy.’’ He said quietly, looking at him through the window before he followed me.

I opened the door, flipped the light switch, he walked in and I walked in after him.

‘'You can sleep on the couch if you want.’’ I said and motioned towards the little two person sofa across from the hospital bed.

‘’Or you can take the bed and I’ll sleep in the couch.’’

‘’No, the couch's fine, but thanks.’’ He sent me a weak smile.

‘’Sure thing, man.’’ I smiled back at him.

He laid down and fallen asleep before I even knew it. I found a blanket, luckily enough I had an extra, and laid it over him.

I turned of the light, went back to the bed and laid down. I looked up at the ceiling, thinking of all the things Ashley had said until I slowly fell asleep.
