I opened my eyes and the harsh rays of the sun sent pain shooting through my head. I didn't drink that much last night, but my head was still hurting. I sat up slowly and looked around.

Where am I?

I'm in a room that has torn old walls, there's dust everywhere, and I'm sitting on an old bed. The door is closed and when I looked out the window, all I see is the forest. The visions of last night came back to me. Carter. I tried to teleport out of the room but I can't.

"Carter!" I called. I heard walking and then he opened the door.

"What am I doing here?" I asked.

"No questions." He said.

"What? What do you want Carter? My magic..." Tears formed in my eyes.

"All I'm going to tell you is, I was ordered to kidnap you and in a few days they will come. Your magic is valuable." Carter said. I looked all over his face and realized he looks familiar. I can't believe this.

"Carter...please no. Lillian is evil." I cried. The tears were now falling down my face.

"She's not evil." His faced turned to a scowl.

"Her and my uncle almost killed me and my mom when I was a baby! How is that not evil?" I shouted. He didn't say anything.

"I have to get out of here." I walked for the door, but Carter blocker my way. I pushed him, but he didn't budge. I punched his chest repeatedly but he doesn't seemed fazed by it because how weak I am. I stopped punching and slumped to the floor. I cried and cried.

My head felt like it was spinning and I fell backwards. My eyes are getting more droopy by the second. I felt Carters arms lift me up and lay me down on the bed.

"I'm sorry." He said, walking away as my eyes finally closed and sleep took over.

What felt like days, I finally woke up. It's now night time and the only source of light is from the moon shining through the window. I looked over to the side and saw a small cup of blood and then a sandwich. My stomach grumbled and grabbed the sandwich. I took a bite and it wasn't even that bad. I gulped down the blood and then stood up. My knees are sore from not moving around.

I went to go open up the door and its unlocked. I quietly turned the knob and tiptoed towards the front door. Carter is asleep on the old couch in the corner of the room.

I need to escape. I can't let Lillian have my magic. For one, I don't want to die and if she tries to take my magic, that's what'll happen. And secondly, she'll use the magic for evil. My magic will be in the wrong hands. I grabbed the knob of the front door and turned it. I walked outside and saw trees everywhere. I'm just going to have to run and find someone.

I closed the door and then ran. Thorns and branches scratched at my legs and arms as I run through the forest. I ran as fast as my feet will allow me. Whatever Carter gave me has made me weaker. My speed isn't as fast as it usually is and I can barely use my magic.

As I'm running, I hear something running behind me. I turn my head and see a mountain lion chasing me. I push my legs to go faster. The growls of the mountain lion grow faster. I trip on a branch and fall to the ground. The mountains lion jumps on top of me and I use my hands to keep it from biting me. There is nothing I can do besides try and fight it.

Its paws scratch my arm and I let out a cry of pain. Another strike, but this time on my stomach. I let out a loud scream. My arms are getting tired and I can barely hold the mountain lion off anymore. Its paw goes through the air and is ready to strike my face. I close my eyes and wait, but only feel the weight being lifted off me. I heard a loud this and I look over.

Carter knocked the mountain lion off me, and it ran away. Carter turned and knelt down beside me. I may be part vampire, but I don't heal that fast. The blood is pouring out of my wounds. Carter goes to lift me up bridal style. I let out a loud scream of pain that can probably be heard from miles away.

"I'm sorry." Carter said. I sobbed and hissed in pain. Carter used his vampire abilities to get us to the abandoned house again. He set me down on my bed and ripped my shirt to reveal the scratch on my stomach. He grabbed some water and put it on a rag to put on the wound. Carter got up and came back with a bottle of something. I have no idea what it is.

"This is going to hurt, but it helps." He took the rag off my wound and then poured a little bit of the liquid on it. I screamed another loud scream. The liquid burns. More tears streamed down my face. Carter set the bottle down, put the rag back on my wound, and then cupped my face. I was now looking straight into his blue eyes with my teary ones.

"Hey...shhh. It's okay." He quietly said. Carter repeated his words and I can slowly feel the pain go away and my breathing becoming a normal rate again. I closed my eyes to go to sleep and Carter sat down next to me, rubbing my face.

Once again, sleep took over.
