It's been two weeks since our argument. Two weeks without any contact from him. I've tried calling, texting, find him at school, and even go over to his house. He's avoiding me and it hurts.
I can see the sympathy in the smile his aunt gives me when I stop by to talk to Carter. I cry every time I climb in my car because Carter did this to me.
I'm walking on trail in the woods my parents use to walk on to this clearing that gives the most beautiful view of the stars in the sky and the fields ahead. It's not dark yet but it's getting there.
I stopped once I got to the place and I just stared at the view. The wind blew against my face and making my hair sway off my shoulders.
I took a sharp intake of breathe when someone grabbed me by the neck and pushed me against a tree. Their blocking my airway, so I'm finding it hard to breathe. I look ahead at the person and see Carter. My eyes widen.
"C-Carter." My voice comes out raspy. He has an evil smile and I've never seen this side of him before.
"Carter? No. He's weak and I'm very disappointed in his decision to take your side instead of mine." He spoke.
Shivers ran all around my body and I gasped.
Lillian.
"Carter, please. I know your in there fighting . Please fight harder." I pleaded. Lillian's hold on my neck tightened and I don't know how much longer I'll be able to fight.
"I love you." I said before my eyes began to flutter shut. I was suddenly dropped to the ground and I gasped taking in all the air I had just been lacking. Tears flooded my eyes and I let them go down my face. I looked up to see Carter fall to the ground. He was staring at his hands and shaking.
"Carter?" I asked to make sure it was him. He looked up and I saw tears running down his face.
"I did that to you. Why didn't you fight? How could I do that?" Carter cried. I crawled over to him and grabbed his hands which he snatched them away. I grabbed them again and I tightened my hold on them when he tried to pull them away.
"Carter, please stop." I cried. He stopped struggling and then just stared at me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him close to me. He wrapped his arms around me and began crying into my shoulder.
"I'm so sorry. It hurts so much to avoid you." He said. Tears continue to pool out of my eyes.
"I forgive you...Carter listen to me." I pulled back and cupped his face with my hands.
"I love you so much." I whispered. I stare straight into his eyes and he stares into mine. They hold love and regret and sadness. I just want to take away all the pain he must be feeling right now.
"I love you too." He said. I leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. Carter responded quickly. I've missed the feeling of his lips on mine and being able to hold his hands.
"We'll get through this. I promise." Carter said.
...........
