Chap 15

"Okay your turn."

"Favorite colour?"

Oliver looked deep into his eyes and muttered "green"

Andrew smirked  "like my eyes?" He said in a mocking tone.

Oliver looked down feeling flustered, warm and embarrassed at his confession but he nodded anyway.

"I want to say mine is brown but actual favorite colour is purple."

"Well then I hope some boy with purple eyes doesn't steal you away from me." This made them both chuckle but what Oliver didn't know was that Andrew was blushing madly.

"That won't happen anytime soon."

It had been a month since they started dating. The kiss kind of just set everything in motion. Oliver kept it a secret from everyone he knew. Andrew told his mum though.

It was currently midnight and they were sitting on the pavement near that park. It was freezing and Both currently in their pajamas, but it had been two weeks since they saw each other and Andrew insisted. They were both so busy with school and could only talk through phone. Andrew had finally gotten enough money to make the bus fair, so he called his boyfriend in the middle of the night, and demanded they meet in their special spot. They both had to sneak out of course but it was worth it just to see each other face to face for a little while.

"Tea or coffee." Oliver inquired

"Coffee."

"Gross."

"Piss off." He said with a smile.

"Okay cats or dogs?"

"Dogs clearly." Oliver said as if if was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Okay you have redeemed yourself."

Oliver laid back onto the pavement and looked up and the stars. Andrew did the same. He grabbed Oliver's hand and rubbed his thumb gently over his knuckles. He turned his body towards him and then moved closer so he was tucked into him. They were now two boys in sleep wear just cuddling on the pavement.

They had decided to go for a walk hand in hand as this place was the only place Oliver didn't feel he'd get harassed for holding hands with another man.

"Favorite memory."

"Alright." Oliver began. "When my mum was still alive, we went to the US right. Went to Florida. So we went to universal studios because we wanted a taste of something other than just Disney you know?"Andrew just nods

"So I was too small to ride the hulk ride and embarrassingly I cried. So my mum took me on the teacup ride and she made me laugh the whole time we were on it. She made me completely forget that I was sad." His eyes began to well up.

"We went every two years and she did this every year I couldn't go.Even when I was finally tall enough she still made it a point to ride the tea cups, like a tradition. She died the year we were supposed to go again." He wipes his eyes and sniffed. He truly only had fond memories of his mother. She was a kind woman. He knew if she was still here he could come out to her. She may have not approved, but she would still love him just the same. Hilda wasn't as kind. She wasn't awful, but she just wasn't the same. But that memory wrapped him up in a warm blanket of happiness and nostalgia.

"She sounds like an amazing person."

"She was."

"So how many sugars do you like in that coffee of yours." Oliver was grateful that Andrew was trying to change the subject.

"Four."

"That's insane. Are you mad?"

"What I just like it sweet okay, don't judge me."

And that's how they carried on for the rest of the night. Making mindless conversation under the stairs. Asking each other anything and everything.
