It All Comes Down To This

"I have no idea what you're talking about," I said loudly. I was trying to warn Leann and Luke. They hadn't come out of my room yet and I wanted to keep it that way. I was hoping they would hear Dom's voice and call the police. I didn't have any drugs in the house anymore, so the more cops the better.

"Oh, but Anna here tells me that you do know exactly what I'm talking about." Dom repositioned himself on the couch, hand resting carefully against his gun, which was still pointed at me. I wanted to believe he was just trying to scare me, but I knew better.

Anna was standing next to the doorway, close to me by the television, and creepy guy had moved closer to Dom and near the hallway. He wasn't sitting on the couch, but he was standing next to Dom like a bodyguard, and blocking my view to the hallway. Even though I couldn't really see past him, I couldn't stop my eyes from darting over there.

"I didn't take anything from you," I said slowly, switching my tactics. I knew he knew the drugs had been here. I just had to make him realize that I had done nothing wrong.

Anna's revenge on me was my life. She sold me to the devil, just for revenge. The girl I had once called my best friend was trying to get me killed because she was kicked out of my house? I couldn't believe it, my mind refused to accept it; it had to be the drugs.

"Tell him!" I yelled at her, fear beginning to take over. Anna just stood there, staring at me like she had never seen me before.

"I already told you everything," she said to Dom. Her speech was slurred and sluggish. There was no color in her eyes, her pupils were enormous; she was obviously on more than weed. Whatever she was doing, she probably had no idea, and I was so stupid all I wanted to do was save her. My eyes were darting from the hallway to Anna, trying to figure out a way to save everyone.

"What did she tell you?" I asked Dom quickly. I needed to know what information she had given so that I could fix it.

"That you took my bag. Now Sam, think very carefully. What did you do with them?" Dom asked, he began tapping his finger on the handle of the gun. My insides churned, he wasn't just trying to scare me; he was letting me know what was coming.

"I didn't take them Dom!" I yelled desperately, "I swear I don't know where they are. Anna is the only one who would know!" I wasn't lying. Eric and Vanessa had taken Anna to dump the drugs, I didn't know where they went. I wasn't going to sell out Eric and Vanessa either, I would let him shoot me before I brought them into this. "I'm sure she could take us there and then you can leave."

"Yeah, I know." Dom grabbed onto his gun, but still left it resting on his leg.

"You know?" I didn't want to speak with him, but he knew? I had to question it.

"You think I leave my house unprotected?" He yelled. He stood up so quickly I couldn't stop myself from jumping back. His gun was pointed at my face as he yelled. "I know exactly who it was!" The gun shifted from me and was then pointed at Anna. My heart went from about to pound out of my chest to dropping into the pit of my stomach. I couldn't handle him pointing the gun at her. She didn't know what she had done.

"Dom, don't!" I yelled urgently, "I'm sure she can find them!" I wanted to save her. I didn't care what she had done to me, I had to save her.

"Look at her Sam! She doesn't even know her own fucking name!" He still had the gun pointed at Anna, but he was looking at me. "You don't take from me without repercussions Sam." He spoke so calmly, switching from yelling like it wasn't anything.

I didn't take my eyes off of him. My mind was flying in every direction trying to find a solution, but I was too frantic to hold onto any idea that ran through it. "What about Andy?" I yelled out. It was the only way I could think to stall; I had to throw someone under the bus.
