Divorce.
di·vorce
dəˈvôrs/
noun
1.
the legal dissolution of a marriage by a court or other competent body.
-Divorce. I hated it.
An evil word that meant so much more than how books and search engines define it. It isn't just a "legal dissolution of marriage", it means tears and depression. It means pain and heartbreak. A word full of paper work and lawyers who carry fake smiles on their soggy faces, explaining to me how my life would now be lived and changed forever. My mother, my poor mother, left to wonder why he wanted to separate. Left to wonder how her "happy" relationship came crashing down beneath her feet. Left to believe it was all her fault.
But I know. I know why this all came to be and I'm left with this burden. I can't help but feel that someone else knows as well.
He knows.

Beep Beep Beep
I'm awoken by the sounds of the heart monitor. The bright sun crept through the large glass windows of the white room, burning my eyes, causing them to squint. My lips are dry and my neck is soar, what happened? I turn my cheek and find my mother with tear stained cheeks and tired eyes." Oh honey, you're awake!" My mother exclaimed. I gave her a confused look and in return she sighed and said, " It happened again."
I nodded, understandingly. "W-will I b-be g-going to school t-tomorrow?"
"Unfortunately, yes. I'm sorry Summer."
My insides burned with guilt, with all the stress my mother already has, I feel terrible putting her through even more. I nod, receiving a small smile from my mother. Today is going to be rough.

(Magical time skip hoe)I feel a sense of relief as I walk down the empty hauls, no more huge crowds of students shoving me around. Instead of beginning school at 7:30, I now start at 9:30 due to my health.
My mother put me in the EPHS program (environmental, public health and safety program) at my school. Because of this, I start school later and only attend three days a week.
I head to my first class, economics, with my text books in hand.
I push through the doors, and thats when I saw him. "Do I really have to be here with stutters?"
