"Dad?"
"Zac?" Dad smiled.
"Get out" Zac demanded, his eyes dark with anger.
"Zac I-"
"I don't care! Leave April alone and just leave!" Zac yelled
"I can explain!" My father begged.
"There's no point now is there?!" Zac yelled as he slammed the fridge door shut. (My poor baby). Dad's face saddened.
"Zac!" I spat, "listen! Please!"
"Why? It's not going to change the fact that he left us for half of our lives!" He tried to run up the stairs but I caught up to him and dragged him down.
"Can you just stop?! Do you have to be so selfish all the time?!" I shrieked. He's being too arrogant for his own good.
"If his explanation isn't good enough..." he trailed off.
"It is" I nodded as I went up to my room.
------------
It's been 4 hours and a few minutes after I heard mom parking in front of our house. The house was quiet and I was dreading the fact that they might not accept the fact that he needs another chance.
"April?" I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in" I replied slowly. When the door opened dad gave me a small sad smile as he looked around the room.
"This room is no different from the last time i saw it" he shook his head smiling, "still a very peachy mess."
"Dad? What did mom say?" I asked. Obviously he didn't come all the way up just to look at the decor.
"I told her why I left and all", he said as he sat on the bed next to me, "and i told her that if she doesn't want me be with you that I'd stay away." His smile getting sadder, "She said i could talk to you whenever I want as long as I don't affect any of your work, I got a new job so I can help out around the house too" He grinned. Now I know why I'm so bipolar... it runs in the family.
"Thank you" I wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my chin on his shoulder.
"There's nothing to thank me about princess" he said as he wrapped his arms around me, "it's what you do for love".
--------------
It's been 3 days since dad had made his come back and nothing has changed much. Mom had asked neighbor guy out and they're supposed to go out on their first date tonight. Dad doesn't know about this though, even if he did he would be heartbroken after all his done for us.
Dad picks me up after school these days and I always walk to school in the morning. Luke has been staying with that Opel girl and rarely ever talked to me. Heather isn't sick anymore and she's a bit better.
Today was a Saturday and I went for a little walk in a childhood park I always go to, to get my mind off of everything that had happened this month. A person who doesn't live in my house found out that my brothers are my brothers, Connor confessed that he likes Heather, I kissed Luke's cheek and found out he has a girlfriend, oh my god I kissed kissed Luke's cheek when he has a girlfriend! What was I thinking?!
mom got a date after 8 years, dad had come back.
As I walked around a rather familiar park with music blasting in my ears I saw a rather familiar boy with dark brown hair pushing a rather familiar younger girl with the same dark brown hair on a swing.
"No way?" I muttered under my breath. This can't be! I haven't seen them in like... forever!
"April!" The younger girl shrieked as she caught sight of me. She hopped off the swingset and ran towards me, her long brown curls bouncing behind her back. With her older brother slowly following behind her.
