Important author's note in the end, must read.

As I sat up on my bed I let out a huge-ass yawn and tried my best to rub the sleepiness off my eyes. Soon sudden realization slapped me across the face causing me to sneeze.

"Bless you honey" Mom smiled as she entered the room with a plate of sandwiches.

"Thanks" I sniffed as I felt tears well up my eyes.

"Honey, sugar pie, sweet pea, don't cry" mom begged as she quickly left the plate on my dresser and wrapped me in a tight hug.

"I miss him" I said slowly.

"Honey, we all do" She smiled sadly, "I'm sorry, you can cry if you want"

"I-... umm... I want to go see hi-"

"Happy birthday to you" the twins choruses as they popped up from the doorway, "you look like a poo, you smell like a sewer and dress like trash too"

"You guys make no sense" I laughed at their failed attempt to sing a simple song like happy birthday.

"Well atleast they tried" Connor shrugged as he walked over to my dresser and took a bite out of my sandwich.

"Hey! That's mi-"

"Happy birthday to yooooouuuuuu, happy birthday toooo youuuuu, happy birthdaaaay to Apriiiiiiillllll, happy biiirthday toooo yooooouuuuuu!" Dad sang as he walked in holding a cupcake with a candle lit on it.

"Incredibly off pitch" I muttered.

"Incredibly over-critical" Zac pointed at me.

"Incredibly judgemental" Connor pointed at me.

"Incredibly stinky" Eric pointed at me, causing everyone to look at him like he was the dumbest thing on earth. Why couldn't he have just said condemnatory or censorious? Jeez, kids these days.

"Thank you guys anyway" I smiled.

"Anything for you honey pot" Mom smiled.

"May I go to the bathroom now?" I asked.

"Yes please, you're morning breath makes my nose bleed" Zac laughed.

"Thanks for the compliment" I laughed as I stood up from my bed.

After having my daily shower I noticed my whole family had gone off to the place they needed to go leaving me home alone in the dead silence on a Saturday.

I dressed up and went downstairs to see a bouquet of fresh white roses laid on the kitchen island and a note stuck to it.

I walked towards it and picked up the note which read,

Sorry hon, but I had to go to work and your brothers went to some party, but still, Happy birthday sweety, and I love you. I also just wanted to say,

This is your choice.

Love,
Mom.

I instantly knew what she was talking about and grabbed the bouquet. I felt like my chest got hit by a hammer and I felt a lump forming in my throat which made my eyes well up with the memories of his cheerful smile. I hugged the bouquet into my chest and wiped the tears that slid down my cheek. I'm going to be strong, atleast for him.

I left the house with one hand hugging the bouquet and the other clutching on to my satchel.

Once I reached my destination I slowly walked closer to the familiar place where he stayed.
