Work was awkward, for the first time in a long time.
I was suddenly grateful that there were so many customers around to keep me busy and out of Callums way.
He knew I was avoiding him, and I was sure that at some point he'd stop me and demand to talk.
I knew it was going to happen, but the longer I could put it off, the better. I wasn't sure how to process all of the information, it was drowning me. My head was pounding, my eye sockets sensitive to light, my vision occasionally blurred.

It was nearly midnight and I was looking forward to going home, crashing out beside Duke. Mentally, physically, I was exhausted, I needed the safety of slumber to heal me.

"Rosie, I'm not going to give up on you that easy" Callum spoke softly towards me, snapping me from my pained trance.
I sighed behind the kitchen counter a few steps away from him.

I chose to ignore him, waiting for him to make the last order of the night.

He didn't say anything else, continuing to rush the meals that I was waiting on, probably eager to start interrogating me.

A few minutes later, he handed me the plates, making sure his fingers brushed against mine as he did so.

I rolled my eyes and moved towards my customers, handing them their meals with a wide grin before returning to where Callum stood.

"Whatever you want to say, say it now, and quick, I want to go home on time" I mumbled as I stacked the dishwasher

"This isn't a joke" He shot as he glared at me sideways

"Its beyond a joke" I scoffed as I looked at him, leaning my hip on the bench

He shook his head, frustrated.

I didn't say anything else, I just waited for him to continue, but surprisingly, he didn't say anything.

I thought I had won the battle, but I was wrong.
With my bag on my shoulder, I made my way out towards home after lock up.

"See you Monday" I waved at Malory who aimed towards her ink blue Mazda

"See you Monday" She repeated

Unlocking my car door, pulling it open, Callum appeared behind me.
I jumped and held my heart, startled

"Don't sneak up on me like that" I shot, dumping my bag into the passenger seat

"Hang out with me tomorrow" His tone changed

"Hang out with you? Why would I want do that?" I asked facing him

"Because I want to make things right. We don't have to talk about our situation, we can just  hang out, watch a movie, have coffee, have dinner, like friends do" He trailed off slowly, casually

"Are you serious?" I scoffed, astounded

"I'm serious" He nodded

There had to be a hidden agenda.

"Look, I appreciate it, but I think I need a little more time to process all of this information" I waved a hand over his figure as I spoke

"Do you think it's perhaps because you're afraid that you'll realise the inevitable" He continued as I rubbed my forehead in frustration

"No Callum. I can't handle anymore drama, and you, you're drama" I said, pulling my car door wide open again, ready to get inside

"Just come out with me tomorrow" He tried again stepping closer towards me

I didn't want too, but I wondered how long he would try and how long I could fight him off for. We worked together, I saw him often, the longer I held off, the more awkward I would make it.
"Fine" I finally gave in "But we aren't going to talk about you being what you are, we aren't going to talk about Duke and we aren't going to talk about my love life, understand?"
