Thieves of tomorrow (Short story)

Chapter 2: setting the scene and introducing some of the pack

The day after our run, the duties return. Ivan as alpha spends most of his time in the office when on duty, and when he's not on duty then I am and if we're both not on duty then the delta Cameron takes over. We get 1 free day off of duty every 3 months and we have to book in advance so it's very rare that me and Ivan can get a day off together at the same time, so when we do we make the most of it.
Me and Ivan have never had a Romantic relationship, we've discussed it a few times but each and and every time we decide its best to be apart. I do love him but like a brother, no more no less and I'm sure he feels the same way.

Our pack is rather large actually its the 3rd largest in All Europe that we know of we have 126 members of that about 20 of us stay in the pack house, only the most important leaders stay in the pack house, but any of the others in the pack can stay for a while if they're in trouble or need help. The rest of the pack  live near us with their families in the little village our pack is based in.
We live in a small town in rural England away from the other small towns in the middle of a forest. The guards patrol the boarders all year round and either me, Ivan , or the delta Cameron will take a shift if we're expecting an attack or if another guard is ill. Our town is called Luna oak and is where all current pack members reside. We have a special werewolf school and nursery , and any other businesses we need are in the village and are run by the pack community so we don't really have any communication with the outside world unless we need to make a peace treaty or need information and anyway Ivan deals with that. As the humans who live near by can not know where here or they may accidentally let it slip to the rival packs.

Let me introduce you to the 20 that live in the pack house:
• Raven (me, Beta)
• Ivan (Alpha)
• Cameron (Delta)
• Tara (Ivan's mum)
• David (Ivan's dad)
• Greg , Tom, Katie and Kyle (trackers)
• Cora (Cameron's mate)
• Jamie , grace, Jenna, Ben , Jason (guards)
• Joseph, William (pack elders male)
• Elizabeth ( Joseph's mate) , Clara (Willian's mate) - (pack elders female)
• willow (the cat)

So I'll give you a little background on each member of my pack and what they do. 

First Raven that's me I'm 17 and pack beta so  I'm second in command and will be alpha if anything happens to Ivan. Also I have a rare condition meaning that if I get marked (bitten) by another wolf who is not my true mate my body will reject the other wolf and will possibly kill me, cheery huh? My wolf is named Luna.

Next on my list Ivan he's the alpha he's a few months older than me and is the youngest alpha us wolves have ever seen in history do far. He calls all the shots around here. He's like s brother to me. Ivan's wolf is called zake.

Next Cameron and Cora they're true mates which means they're wolves were made for each other there's only a small chance you will ever find your true mate. Cameron is the delta so he's 3rd in command. His wife Cora is lovely and is 8 months pregnant with their first baby.

Next Tara and David Ivan's parents are also true mates, being the alphas parents they automatically get into the pack main house, also David was the last alpha before he stepped down for his son to take his place. I love Tara and David like they were my own parents as they practically raised me as me whole family and home pack wad
Killed by rouges as mentioned earlier.

The trackers Greg , Tom, Katie and Kyle . Greg and Tom are one of our 2 same sex mating pairs , while Katie and Kyle are also mates, as they're both highly skilled they work as guards as well. Katie is cora's sister. The trackers have amazing sense of smell and can track any scent they usually hunt for food and are helpful for tracking rouges and disposing of them to if they are spotted by our guards.

Next the guards Jamie , grace, Jenna, Ben , Jason. Grace and Jenna are our other pair of  sane sex mates and the pack welcome them openly I'm glad to say. The other three guards are unmated. The guards take turns watching the boarders of our little town and have great hearing and sight so they can spot any trouble before it gets to close.

Next the elders are the ones you go to for help and are amazing at entertaining the younger ones in the pack with their stories , and the female elders are amazing cooks.

Last but not least willow the cat, it's always been weird to me being a pack full of dogs with a pet cat but the pack loves to spoil her and she loves the attention of the pack children when they come to visit.
