Chapter 12: talking to ivan

After Kat and I had finished crying she gave me a kiss on the head and left to finish her shift. Promising me she'd be back at 6pm to chat so we can get to know each other a little better. When she left I immediately felt the effects and my whole body sagged at her missing presence. It felt like my body was being torn in two as she walked away.
"Rae?" She said through our bond when she was out of sight , "yeah?" I replied feeling a tiny bit better just hearing her voice, "I don't want to leave you, it hurts" she whimpered. "I know babe, but you need to work and I need to talk to Ivan. Try distracting yourself a little and you can mind link me when ever you want, I love you" I could feel the happiness and love flowing through are bond and it comforted me to know she was there. "See you later Rae" she whispered in her sweet voice, "can't wait" I murmured losing myself in the happiness of being able to do this with someone. I slowly felt her attention move away from me and was relieved that she wasn't worrying anymore, so I did the same.
My gaze wondered over to Ivan as he started to stir. I attempted to nudge him and laughed as he groaned and swatted me away , while moaning something about stupid rats. Watching the big bad alpha like this sent me into hysterics, but I soon stopped as the pain in my head increased. My laughing fit (however long it was) woke Ivan and he jolted up right and started flailing his arms around. I sniggered and he stopped and looked at me. His eyes widened and he started flooding me with so many questions I couldn't even understand what he was asking.
"Ivan wait! Stop!" He stopped and closed his eyes then sighed. A minute later he opened his eyes and said "I'm so sorry Raven, zake was out of control. They've sedated him till I'm back to full health and can control him" he blurted out with tears streaming down his face, the pain and horror at what he's done was evident. I nodded still not completely comfortable around him.
"How long do you have?" He asked hope evident in his eyes, it disappeared when he saw me give a sad smile and tears fill my eyes "2 days left , not counting today". He looked way shame and sadness filled his eyes, he started to apologise again. I stopped him, when he noticed the huge smile on my face as I changed the topic trying not to think about it and make the most of these last few days. "Why are you smiling , we need to find a cure Rae!!!" My smile widened "I found my mate" I blurted out interrupting him in the middle of his rant. He turned towards me shocked. "Really?" I nodded pride seeping in along with love , happiness, and devastation that we would only have 2 full days together. He jumped up and pulled me into a tight embrace that was only one-sided as I couldn't move, he knew how much this meant to me I've been dreaming about This since I was 4. "What's he like?" He asked clearly exited for me. "Well..." I muttered and looked away scratching nervously at the back of my neck. "Come on Rae you Can tell me anything, what's his name?" I was going to have to tell him at some point. "My mates ....... A girl" I mumbled. "Rae I can't hear you, speak up"
I sighed might as well just tell him, here it goes. "My mates a girl" his eyes bulged out his his head before he smirked and said "Is she hot?" I just laughed.
"Well her names Kathleen and she a doctor here, she's really beautiful Ivan and she's so sweet, we're going on a date tonight" I boasted, then my heart sunk as I realised we'd have to stay here as I couldn't walk and Kat sure as hell couldn't carry me.
The next few hours flew by as Ivan asked me about Kat and how I was feeling. Trying to avoid talking and thinking about the incident as much as possible.
Finally 6 came, i was so exited to see Kat again, I could feel Luna prancing around with happiness as I felt Kat get closer. Luna howled as she caught Kats scent, as she rounded the corner my heart sped up at the same time Kats pace did. She gave me a massive hug and I felt a sharp sting in my arm but thought nothing of it , I pulled her in tight savouring the feel of her in my arms. when I pulled back I stopped in shock and waved my arms around " what? How can I move?" Kat smiled and pulled an empty syringe form behind her back. "Surprise! I felt you worrying about it today and then I thought we had that strong pain reliever stuff that we give to the paralysed wolves!" She said excitedly, I could feel she was proud of herself. I pulled myself up feeling hardly any pain at all pulled her into a hug, I was slightly taller then her so I looked down and encircled my arms around her soft waist and leaned down my gaze on her lips, she licked them nervously before standing on her tiptoes to meet mine. Her tongue teased my lips and I sighed, savouring the moment. We slowly pulled apart when we heard Ivan clearing his throat. I looked into her eyes and saw everything I could ever want I stole one more small kiss before Turing my attention to Ivan, my arms still around kats waist.
He saw smirking, "that was hot" we just laughed.
"Ready for our date?" She asked wriggling out of my hold on her, "yeah, but I need to change out of this hospital gown" she laughed "get a move on beta". I stuck my tongue out at her and smiled as I sauntered off to find some clothes. It was nice to finally move and stretch my muscles.
