*1 week later*
It's been almost a week since Ivan blacked out now, and each day he gets worse. His skin is translucent and his face is frail and thin. His veins are visible through his thin skin and his body is sickly.
The doctors still don't know the results of his tests as they keep saying they've never seen a case this bad before or caught it this late on in the stage.
Yesterday was the first time I've left his side in two weeks for more than five minutes. The doctors convinced me to go and check on the other pack members and sleep for a couple of hours. As they had to run some more tests on Ivan.
As I dragged myself back to the pack house I passed through the town centre and talked to a few of the pack members. Over the pass few weeks I've been keeping a constant mind-link with them all to answer any questions and keep them all updated. I them headed home to bed. Once I'd slept for a few hours in a proper bed I felt rejuvenated and raced back to the hospital. When I got there doctor Joseph briefed me. "Beta Raven, it seems Ivan has made a significant recovery the infected flesh we removed has nearly healed and the infection haven't spread any further. His vitals are good and we are happy to say he should make an almost full recovery he might have a few permanent scars but I think all in all he's doing great" I sighed a huge weight being lifted of my shoulders as joy filled me and for a moment I was a little overwhelmed, I involuntarily jumped up and wrapped my arms around the doctors neck pulling him into a tight embrace. He stood stone still and when I realised what I was doing I let go and smiled shyly apologising to the doctor he nodded and walked off a little shocked I think. I chuckled and walked towards Ivan's room and when I walked in i gasped at the sight of Ivan. His skin was back to its normal colour and his cheeks had regained some Life as well. His hands felt more sturdy and stronger. He looked like he was almost back to himself. Guess the werewolf healing finally kicked in.
His face was still a little pale and he was still a little thin and definitely missing his usual muscles. But compared to how he was a few hours ago he looked like a new man.
I notified the pack and chuckled when I heard the whoops of joys and sighs of relief come flooding through the mind-link. Clearly they were happy their alpha was back on the road to recovery.
I sat down in the hard hospital chair that had been serving as my bed for the last few weeks, and reached over and grabbed Ivan's hand, I could feel the difference already.
At the touch of my hand I watched miraculously as Ivan's eyelids flickered and slowly they opened. His eyes were red and bloodshot. He looked around confused at first, before looking at me. He then settled down and recognition filled his eyes, "hey Ivan? It's me Raven. Do you remember what happened?" He opened his mouth and struggled to get a word out, after a few tries he croaked out a "yeah a little, I got bitten by a rogue then I can't remember what happened. I have a few flashes here and there but everything else is just blurry" I nod and start to fill him in "well after you got bitten....you started acting weird...nightmares...you tried to attack me...blacked out....and then I brought you here" it took me an hour in all to explain what happened. Ivan sat in silence with an expressionless look on his face. When I finished we sat in an uncomfortable silence after a few minutes he bent his head Down and he turned to me and in a quiet voice said "I tried to attack you?" I nodded "you kept trying to bite me" At that his head shot up and he tilted it side ways and his forehead creased , "bite?" He whispered in a voice I hadn't heard him use before but it sent shivers down my spine. His eyes flicked to my neck and back to my face. I tried to pull my hands from his as to put as much distance between me and him but he held on tight with an iron grip. His eyes flashed yellow as his wolf took over and his canines extended from his gums. "Ivan!" I pleaded softly so as not to spook him or provoke any sudden movements. He shook his head and his eye flickered between yellow and his normal warm brown. As the internal battle raged on it became apparent to me that his wolf had become infected and saw me as a target, whereas Ivan was fully healed and thinking straight . I waited trying to think of away out of this. But then Ivan lunged towards me his eyes a solid yellow now and sunk his teeth into my shoulder just below my neck on my collarbone, I let out a shriek of terror and tried to pull away but watched in twisted fascination as my life slowly drained out of me and as Ivan became stronger and more healthy as life rushed into his cheeks and just as I was about to be drained his eyes flashed back to brown and terror filled them as he released me and stumbled back.
I dropped to the floor my last memory was Ivan's terror filled eyes and a scream as doctors and nurses rushed around us only moments too late. My vision blurred and the sounds of voices and screams soon merged into a constant stream of white noise. My vision turned black as my body fell limp. The last thing I felt was the stinging in my wrist working its way around my body and making me feel numb.
