I had literally just walked in the door of the Skeleton household when I heard Papyrus yell from inside his room, making me drop my bag of groceries. Since I basically lived at their house now, I had to bring some food of my own to eat. Papyrus still doesn't understand how I can't just live off of spaghetti, even after I helped him cook it correctly.
Sans obviously wasn't home right now, because he would've sprinted into Papyrus's room to see why he was yelling. I abandoned my fallen groceries and speed-walked toward the stairs. I looked up and watched as a little white dog ran from inside Papyrus's room, down the stairs, and out the door. It had a large bone in its mouth.
"GET BACK HERE WITH THAT! I NEED THAT FOR MY FAVORITE COMPLETELY NORMAL ATTACK!" I snickered at Papyrus who was angrily shaking his fist at the door the dog just ran out of. He looked down at me and relaxed. "Oh..hi."
"Maybe we need a better lock for the house to keep that dog out." I say, crossing my arms and smiling. Papyrus just shook his head and walked back into his room. I grabbed a candy bar from the groceries scattered on the floor and ran up the stairs to his room. He was siting at his computer when I got there, so I quietly sat down on his super cool race car bed. After waiting a few seconds, I tore open my candy bar as violently and loud as possible. Papyrus almost fell backwards in his chair. He turned back at me with an annoyed expression, but couldn't help laughing with me. When we finally calmed down, I patted the space next to me on the bed. He seemed nervous as he shuffled over and sat down, but I didn't think too much of it. I held out my candy bar towards him.
"...what?" He said, confused.
"Take a piece." He always seemed so interested in the food I bought, but I never really let him try any. He looked at me, then back down at the candy bar, and slowly broke a piece off for himself. I took a bite of the remaining bar, and watched as he tasted his own piece. His face lit up with delight and he shoved the rest of the chocolatey treat in his mouth. "Wow Pap, I didn't expect you to like it that much. I didn't think you had the stomach for it." Papyrus's happy expression quickly changed to an annoyed one. "Sorry, I guess San's sense of humor is ribbing off on me." Papyrus grabbed one of his pillows and threw it at me. My laughter was muffled in the pillow, and I grabbed it and swung at him. He grabbed his other pillow and swung at me. We continued this pillow fight until I accidentally let go of my pillow while swinging at him, and it hit his bookshelf. A few books fell to the ground, and I walked over to go pick them up. One particular book captured my attention; Dating 101: A guide to Dating. I guess Papyrus realized that I was examining it.
"Uh..d-don't pay too much mind to that (y/n). It's not even m-mine, I think it's belongs to Sans." I smirked back at him, and brought the book back over to his bed.
"What's the story behind this Papyrus?" I asked. He looked uncomfortable, and his cheeks were dusted a light reddish orange.
"Well...I may have gotten it...before going out on a date with Frisk..." He looked down at the bed.
"You went on a date with Frisk?! Why haven't they told me this? And why...aren't you two still going out?" Papyrus shrugged.
"I just didn't have as strong feelings for them as they did for me. It wasn't easy telling them this, but I think they're ok now. Frisk flirts with everyone."
"Exactly." I said, giggling. I looked down at the dating manual again, then slowly slid it over towards Papyrus. I looked at me with a confused expression. "Could you...maybe...show me-"
"NO!" Papyrus quickly shoved the book back at me, and I slowly slid it back.
"Pleeeease? Just show me at least one of the steps you used on Frisk." He shook his head and turned away from me. "Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese?" I begged again with DETERMINATION. Papyrus looked over at me and his cheeks turned a darker red-orange. He sighed heavily and picked up the manual.
"...Step one...press the [ C ] key on your keyboard for *Dating Hud*." A keyboard appears in front of me, making me jump a little. I stared at it in awe. "The uh...C key is right there." Papyrus says, pointing at the C on the keyboard. I slowly pressed it, and suddenly I was surrounded by icons, including a radar tracking the little white dog, and an...egg? "Step two, ask out on date." I looked at him expectantly.
    "Go on."
"You, a-actually want me to ask you?" He stutters. I nodded. "O-oh...wow um...well, (y/n)...I, the great Papyrus, will go on a date with you."
"Yes." I said, smiling wider. Papyrus gasped and put his gloved hands on the side of his face.
"W-wowie. This is great! Uh, ok. Step 3, wear nice clothing to show you care." He looks down at the outfit he's wearing; his usual costume that he never takes off. It suddenly transformed into another outfit, in which he wore a shirt saying Cool Dude and a cap. I covered my mouth to muffle my giggles. I looked down at my own outfit, a plain purple shirt with a grey jacket and jeans. Unfortunately my outfit didn't transform into a super cool one like Papyrus's.
"Um, this is pretty nice clothing to me." I said while pointing to my shirt. Papyrus narrowed his eyes for a moment, and then they widened.
"WAIT A SECOND." He burst out, scaring me a little. "You...wear that outfit a lot around me..." I shrugged, I did mostly wear my grey jacket and jeans, my shirt is the only thing that usually changes. "Were you trying to impress me this whole time?"
"Uh...sure." Papyrus gasped, and a little bar that said Dating power appeared behind him, and it seemed to be filling up.
"This is exactly what happened with Frisk!" He exclaimed. "Except this time, I think my feelings are stronger..."  This made my whole face go completely red. I watched as my "Date Power" went down, and pouted. I really wanted to get the bar filled up somehow.
"So, what's step four?" He looked down at the manual again.
"I never actually made it to step four" he said as he turned the page. "Step four, give small presents as sign of affection."
"I already gave you some of my candy bar earlier." I pointed out. His eyes widened again and he shook a little as the date power went up.
"N-no!" His expression made me giggle again. "Well, I give you the present that is my wonderful spaghetti every time you come here!" My date power lowered again. "Nyeh heh heh!" I looked away and thought for a moment. Then an idea popped into my head, and I smiled mischievously at him.
"I have another present for you Papyrus." I purred. Papyrus had a confused and slightly nervous expression.
"Ok...what is i-" I cut him off by placing my lips on his mouth. He didn't have lips of course so he couldn't kiss my back, but it was still oddly enjoyable. I couldn't see his expression since my eyes were closed, but I felt him tense up. When I opened my eyes, his face was completely red. I smiled and sat back as I watched my Date Power go beyond the box limit. Suddenly a flash of white covered my vision, and when I could see again the Date Hud icons were gone. Papyrus's face was still red, but he didn't look at me.
"Well that was fun." I said awkwardly. I suddenly felt very worried that I upset him somehow. "I guess I'll just...go now." I said sadly, as I began to walk towards the door.
"Before you go," Papyrus called from his bed. "Can I ask you something?" I turned back towards him.
"Sure."
"Would you...maybe...wanna do that again sometime?" He stuttered while twirling his scarf around his finger. I ran back over to him and hugged him.
"Yes! Yes! Of course!" I squealed. He stood up and spun me around as we both happily laughed.
