"that's uh...not supposed to be there." Sans said as we stared at the 8 feet of snow that blocked our exit. I stared at it in awe, and poked my finger in it just to make sure it was real. It was indeed real, and really cold. I shut the door and we walked back to the couch.
"Papyrus is ok, right?" I asked when Sans sat down.
"Yeah, he's with Alphys and Undyne, and I doubt Hotland gets snow. Plus I called him before you woke up to tell him to stay there for a bit longer." I nodded and looked back at the television. Before I could see what was on the tv screen went black, and the rest of the lights went off. I jumped at the sudden darkness, then jumped again when I saw Sans's glowing blue eye stare at me.
"I g-guess the power went out." I said nervously. My eyes were starting to adjust to the dark, and I could faintly see Sans silhouette as he stood up.
"don't worry, there's some candles in my room." He started to walk towards the stairs but I stopped him by tugging on his jacket sleeve.
"Please don't leave me alone Sans, I'm...kinda scared of the dark." He started to laugh a little, but suddenly stopped.
"wait, are you glaring at me?"
"Yup." He laughed again and apologized.
"c'mon, let's go get some candles." He took my hand and pulled me off the couch. To my surprise he kept hold of my hand as we walked up the stairs, and I was glad the dark concealed the blush on my cheeks. As soon as San's opened the door to his room, I realized that I've never actually been in there. Sans let go of my hand and walked deeper into the room, using his eye as a flashlight. I walked behind him slowly and carefully, just in case there was anything I could trip over.
...I ended up tripping over something anyway.
"(Y/n)?" Sans called out as he lit a candle. He stared down at me and tried to contain his giggles. "I see you've found my treadmill." I turned and looked behind me and saw the dimly lit treadmill.
"It would've been nice of you to warn me about that." I said as he helped me up with his free hand.
"but that would've been less humurous."
"You've used that pun like five times this week."
"there's only so many skele-puns." We started to walk out of the room again, and I ended up grabbing for Sans's hand without really thinking. "y-you're really scared of the dark aren't you?"
"Uh huh." I mumbled. I was kinda embarrassed, but it's not like I could just let go of his hand now. We sat back down on the couch with the candle on the floor next to us. There was an awkward silence for a good 3 minutes. Finally and turned to face him. "Sa-" I began, but was interrupted by the sound of a snore. "Sans!" I shouted, and he jolted awake.
"wha- what?" His left eye glowed blue for a fraction of a second before his usual white pupils returned and faced me. "oh hey."
"We really need to find something to do other than sit in silence."
"we could sleep in silence." Sans leaned his head on the back of the couch and relaxed again.
"Nooo, Sans I'm really bored." I whined.
"alright alright, how bout you think of some game we could play or something." I stared at the candle flame and thought for a moment before an idea popped into my head. I looked back at Sans and saw him closing his eyes again.
"S-"
"don't shout babe, I'm still awake." I flinched a little. I still haven't gotten used to the whole name calling thing, especially since he does it at the most random times.
"Well uh...how about we play truth or dare?" I suggested. Sans gave me a puzzled look.
"never heard of it...how do you play?"
"Simple, we take turns asking each other 'Truth or Dare', and you pick either truth or dare. If you pick truth then you have to truthfully answer a question, and dare means you have to do something you probably don't want to." My explanation of the game made it sound kinda boring, but Sans didn't seem to mind.
"ok, truth or dare?" When I answered truth Sans seemed slightly disappointed. "aw, I had a really good dare. anyways, um...have you ever hated a monster?"
"Oh my god no," I said, shaking my head. "Every monster I've met I've liked, even if they aren't that nice." Sans smile widened a bit. "Ok your turn, truth or dare?"
"dare." I pointed back at the door.
"Run though the snow at the door." I said grinning. Sans just shrugged and started to walk over. I picked up the candle and held it in front of me so I could see him better. He opened the door to reveal the wall of snow, backed up a bit, the ran straight towards it. There was a soft 'poof ' noise as he ran through, and I started laughing at the outline of his body in the snow. He casually walked back inside, and I started laughing even harder when I saw him. His eye sockets were overflowing with snow, and some snow even managed to get under his shirt and into his rib cage. His usual grin was turned downwards a bit, and he stood with his arms hovering over his sides. "Are you ok?" I finally managed to ask.
"yeah...snow big deal." He shook off the snow, then used his powers to throw it out the door, then close the door. He sat back down on the couch while I covered my mouth to stop me from laughing again. "truth, or dare." He said stiffly.
"Dare." His grin curved upwards again.
"i dare you to go upstairs into Pap's room and bring back one of his action figures." I raised an eyebrow at him, shrugged, then began to reach down for the candle. "without the candle." I looked at him with wide eyes then shook my head.
"Nope. No. Not doing that. Never." I said nervously. He chuckled a little.
"you have to, it's a dare." Sans said smugly. I sighed dramatically and stood up. I started walking slowly up the steps, savoring every last bit of light until I was in complete darkness. I started running up the steps, then ran into Papyrus's door before opening it. I could hear Sans burst into laughter as I bolted into the room, grabbed what felt like an action figure, then ran out again. I almost fell down the stairs but ended up safely on the couch again. I was relieved to see that I had picked up an action figure after all.
"Ok," I said breathlessly. "Truth or dare?" I started to think of the best questions and dares I could ask as he thought. An idea came to mind that made me hope that he chose truth.
"dare." Of course.
"Ugghh, darn it." I was about to say a dare I came up with, but changed my mind. "Ok, I dare you to answer this question truthfully."
"heh, well played." I slowly leaned in super close to Sans, and his cheeks started glowing a light blue.
"Would you smooch a human?" I whispered. He stared at me for a moment before lifting a slightly shaking hand to point at his mouth.
"i...d-don't have..."
"Pretend you do." I forgot he didn't have lips, and was I slightly embarrassed. He looked away nervously, but I didn't stop looking at him. His white pupils faced me again and he gulped before he spoke. (Even though he had no throat...)
"h-heck yeah." He muttered. I giggled and leaned back to a regular sitting position.
"My turn." I chirped. He grinned mischievously and I suddenly felt nervous.
"truth or dare?"
"Uh...truth."
"no, you're getting a dare." I crossed my arms but didn't protest. This time Sans leaned in really close to me. "I dare you to smooch the skeleton." My eyes widened when he said this, but I immediately made myself relax so he wouldn't notice. I smiled and started to lean forward. The last thing I saw as I closed my eyes was Sans's shocked expression. I pressed my lips against his teeth, which felt pretty awkward but strangely enjoyable? I guess? I leant back and opened my eyes, and looked at the completely blue Sans. He laughed nervously and scratched the back of his skull.
"Are you going tibia ok Sans?" I said, grinning the way he does. He started laughing lightly.
"that didn't seem like a smooch to me." My grin dropped and I felt my face get red. Before I could say anything Sans lunged at me and pinned me to the couch. I stared up at him in amazement; half of his face was illuminated by the candlelight, and his left eye was lightly glowing a light blue. After getting over the shock of being tackled by Sans, I smirked up at him.
"Heh, ok then. Show me the p-proper way to smooch then." I tried to talk in the most flirtatious way possible, but my stuttering kinda ruined it. He just chuckled and started to lean down. I puckered my lips and started to close my eyes. But before I could completely close my eyes, my entire vision became dark. Then a bright light filled the room, along with a gust of cold wind.
"SANNNNS!" Papyrus called from the door. Sans seemed to suddenly disappear from on top of me then appear on the other end of the couch. "Sans why are the lights all off?"
"the power's out bro, because of the snow storm. speaking of, why are you here?" Papyrus was completely covered in snow, and he made the hole Sans left earlier in the snow wall larger.
"I thought the snow would be gone by now." He mumbled. The cold air kept blowing in from outside, and Sans noticed when I shivered. He shrugged off his jacket and gave it to me before bending down to light the candle again.
"shut the door and come inside Pap." Papyrus did as told and sat down on the couch with us. "want some hot chocolate?" Me and Papyrus nodded happily, and we spent the rest of the night drinking hot chocolate and playing human and monster games.
