Our story began in the unlikeliest place

12:30 AM when I first saw your face

On a cold rainy day, not sure where it might be

A lost place in my heart or the depths of the sea

You first caught my eye when I saw your smile

I just couldn't help but stare for a while

You then turned your head to look in my way

A nod of your head, I then looked away

You walked towards me with your confident stance

Looked into my eyes and asked for a dance

We held onto each other all through the night

Under the stars that were shining so bright

As I walked home alone, I couldn't help but smile

At the way you have left me dazed and beguiled

As I lay awake that night staring at the ceiling

I silently prayed that this was just the beginning

For the beginning, it is always good and right

But all this time it has always been so finite

With you I have now found hope for the better,

For our new beginning and for forever

I can't even remember how I got the idea of this poem. I think this was when I first had the random idea to make my 2015 compilation into a story. That was my first ever idea of 'For the Heart Catcher', which was originally supposed to be called 'Storybook'. The letter idea won over the storybook idea, but this poem stayed in the end.
