Chapter 5

»

"Hey Alex, I want to switch tents with you." Cameron walk beside me as we walk deep into the forest.

Following a pathway, of course. Eve claims to be a great surprise, Aaron keeps claiming there is ghosts around and freak out at every stick we step on.

"So you want to sleep in a tent with Eve..?" I look up at Cameron.

"Yeah, she agree to it so you have to sleep in a tent with Jace." Cameron pats my back and quickly walk up front.

Here's the thing about Jace and I, and our friends. They don't know anything, they only know we were close. That's it.

Now I have to share a tent with him. That's not a dream come true, I am trying to move on from Collins.

We step out to a big open space, where we see fireflies on trees and stars shining brightly in the sky.

Eve giggles and went over to a table, Cameron and her lay down on it.

Oh gosh, those two are killing me.

Aaron and Realm shared one, that leaves me with Jace.

"Come on, Anderson!" I follow Jace behind, and I got on the table first.

I lay down and he lay beside me.

Fuck. How am I suppose to move on?

"Shooting star!" Aaron pointed out excitedly, he sat up and put his hands together.

We all did the same thing, we all made a wish.

Then we lay there in silence, well only Jace and I.

Watching the starry night sky, made my eyes tear up.

"Anderson?"

"Yes, Collins?"

"Who was your first love?"

"It's a secret, like my middle name." I let out a laugh, Jace groans and put his hand over his face.

"I wish I could push you off this table, but I don't want you to get hurt."

What did he just say?

"Guys, we're heading back first ok? Eve isn't feeling good." I sat up and watch Cameron carry Eve in his arms as they left.

"They're having sex." Realm and I said at the same time.

"Use a condom! She will get better soon!" Aaron shouted and wave goodbye enthusiastically.

"Oh geez, what's gonna happen to you tonight?" Realm laughs, looking at me.

"Oh I am sleeping outside." I say sarcastically.

"Ohhh, enjoy the outside breeze then, Anderson." Jace sits up and smiled at me.

"I would push you off the table," I repeated his words.

"But you don't want to hurt me?"

"No, Collins!" I push him off playfully.

"You need to run, Anderson!" Aaron shouts.

"What?" I look at Aaron and Realm who are running away.

I got off the table, slightly confused yet terrified because I am here in the deep dark forest.

"Alex!" Jace put his right arm around my neck, "I know how much you hate the dark, do you want to hold my hand?" Jace put out his left hand for me to hold.

I put my left on his and he held it tightly, close to his heart.

"Why do you hate the dark, Anderson?"

              Flashback
             7 Years Old
     At some kid's sleepover

"Let's play hide and seek with the lights off!" The girl with blonde hair suggested.

It was her birthday sleepover, it was a mixed boy and girl party.

The lights immediately went off, all I can see was the light in the window.

"I am the seeker!" Naturally, everyone would run and go find a place to hide.

But I walk really slowly, not really walking to where but I found door.

I open it and bump into.. Cloth.

The closet.

I got down and shut the door gently, I went right into the corner and shut my eyes.

Then I hear rustling, "hic!" I put my hand over my mouth.

"Alex, is that you?"

"Jace." My eyes shot right open.

He started laughing, trying to keep it down.

"Jace.. Can you hold my hand?" I reach out, and I felt his hand on mine.

"Why?"

"I can't see.. I think I have forty-six bumps on my head." i exaggerate.

He laughs, "then I will be your guide for eternity."

           End Of Flashback

"Oh yeah, I would never forget that party. Memorable." Jace nods slightly.

Then I saw the lights by our tents, "damn, they have sex silently." Aaron mutters.

I let my hands then swing by my side, awkwardly walking over to our tent.

"Are they even having sex? Maybe it's Cameron's first time you know." Realm mentions.

"Oh god, just stop talking about it already." I stop the both of them.

"But hey, maybe he just have a small-"

"We can hear you guys!" Eve came out of the tent, cutting me off. "We're not having sex!" She stated firmly.

I was the first to burst out laughing, Jace followed after.

"You all crazy bitches." Aaron chuckles, shaking his head at us.

"Well, I am a bitch. What are you going to go about it?" I snap at Aaron.

"Bitch." Aaron nods and I smiled.
