» Jace's Point Of View

In the morning, Shane drove puffy-red eyed Blake to school while I took my time and waltz into school, late.

In the first few periods of our classes, Blake slept through it. She doesn't care anymore, she have so much going on in her head, she can't focus on anything.

In lunch, though I don't sit with them, I did today. Blake barely eat anything, I don't know what's going on in her head but her eyes shows it all.

Friday rolls by, it's always the same. Blake didn't have the energy to take part in gym class was sent to the counsellor's office. In basketball training now, she have never looked so clueless. She was messing up her layups, her free throws, her three pointers which is basically everything.

The coach call her out, and said that she will be benched from the upcoming match next Friday night. Straight after training, we were all headed down to this 'haunted house' to meet Eve.

Aaron typically brought a girl with us, and Eve would rather walk in with Realm than me. So I am left with Blake, she doesn't seem nervous though but then she showed me that her hands are trembling.

Soon, it's our town. I am not very thrilled about it but, Blake seems so excited.

I walk in first, and Blake follows behind me tightly. It's dark till we saw light at the end of the hallway, I slowed down and peak around the corner.

"What's inside?" Blake stood closely behind me, "a man hanging." I muttered, taking a step in. There is fake blood splattered everywhere, suddenly a little girl with long hair crawled out from the table below.

"Oh crisps!" I held onto Blake's hand and continue walking through, "oh god, limbs."

We walk through the short hallway of limbs and got into a medical room, "look, he's got a chainsaw!" Blake pointed enthusiastically.

The guy on the surgery table, sprung up and started laughing with a chainsaw in his hand.

"Jace, it's really dark." Blake murmurs, "I am right here." I held her hand tighter.

I tried to figure out where the entrance is, then this lady just stood in a corner,  crying. Blake, being so curious about it, went to touch her shoulder making the lady jump out at us.

Blake let out a scream, and laughed. "You're so weird, Anderson." I chuckled.

"Are we suppose to walk up the stairs?" I pointed, "there's a clown sitting there." Blake tiptoed and saw the second level.

"I know you don't like clowns," Blake stated, walking up the stairs first. "Don't punch it when he pops up okay?" I shook my head at what she said and walk towards the end of the hallway, and I kept looking behind where the clown got up and started walking around.

"The Haunted House ends with a slide." Blake reads out the sign by the slide.

"What a shitty haunted house," she says. I let go of her hand and let her slide down first and sat on the slide, taking a breath.

The clown then came behind and shout in my ear, and pushed me down the slide.

"Hey, how was the haunted house?" Eve ask as we walk to find some food to eat.

"I hate the clown."

"I will send Blake home," Jace says as we're heading towards the outside.

"What? Are you guys together now?" Aaron questions as Jace walk across the road.

"We're not together." I shook my head in response, "you guys seem cute together- JACE!"

Realm pushes past me, I turn around and found Jace laying on the ground.

"Alex Anderson, right?" Jace's older sister, Samantha Collins approached me.

"I haven't seen you in awhile, back in town?" She gives me a hug. "Yeah, staying in town till college." I replied, we pulled away and kept our arms around each other.

Samantha used to be our babysitter when our parents are away, she tends to leave us alone in a house because she was a rebellious teen. But now, she work as a policewoman in town.

"I rushed here as fast as I could," Mrs Collins arrived with Mr Collins.

"Jace is still in the surgery room, his right leg might be fractured.. I don't know, it was a mess." Samantha let out a frustrated sigh and took a seat.

"He is suffering minor injuries, it's just that his right leg is fractured and his right wrist is sprained." I explained.

"Oh, it is Alexandra! Your Mom used to call you Blake all the time," Mrs Collins gives me a quick hug.

"You guys can call me Blake, I mean it's already exposed so why not?" I let out a chuckle and sit next to Samantha.

"Why did your parents divorced? They were perfectly fine." Mr Collins questions.

"They have been fighting for years actually.." I muttered.

"Wait, your parents are divorced?" Eve put her hand on my shoulder.

"Do they fight physically or verbally?" Mrs Collins asked, very concerned about the situation.

"My Mom threw a lot of things at my Dad once, and another time was Dad slapped Mom but I went out because I have school... So we kind of expected the divorce to happen sooner or later, and so it happened and we're all here back in town with only my Dad."

"How come you never told us that?" Aaron mutters out.

"I was never asked."

»

"Hey, where were you?" Shane questions when Aaron drops me off.

"Jace got into a car accident." I say it bluntly, "wha-what? Are you okay? Is he okay?" Alex got up from the couch, letting the bag of chips drop to the floor.

"I am fine, Jace is still in the surgery room. I will get news from Samantha latest by midnight so I left."

"I am going to go sleep okay? Night."

"Okay, night Xandra."
