Waking the sleeping wolf

"Mom you need to talk to me." After I had explained everything to her she was speechless. She just looked blankly into nothing as I tried o snap her out of it.

"Mom I need to find out if this is true and if not how I can find who did this." 

"Of course your father didn't do this." She snapped. I looked at her in shock. She snapped at me. She hasn't had this much life in a long time. It was kind of nice. 

"Your grandfather did this" and I heard something I never thought I would hear again. A growl. My mother growled.

I saw her eyes turn black and her skin started moving and I saw fur coming up from her skin. My eyes widened and I sat back in my chair, she was changing. Shifting again for the first time in five years. My mother was the only white wolf  I had ever seen and here she was changing again. She shifted before me and my...mate and started pacing. I shifted into my wolf. My wolf was grey on top and white on my underbelly. I was a mix between my parents but both of my parents were unusual so my wolf was just rare and she loved it. I told my mother we would go on a run and come back. But she wanted none of it she wanted to kill. 

Mom I said with our mind link We need to let your wolf run so we can do this calmly.

NO! She snapped at me My mate is dead, your father is dead, because of your grandfather. I'll kill him. 

Well, fuck I looked at Lusius with pleading eyes hoping he would shift. Hoping he would understand and try and help me. I managed to whimper and he some how understood. He shifted immediately and I saw this huge black wolf with a white chest. I was dumb struck

Mate my wolf whispered in pride and awe at how beautiful our mate was. God. He was...majestic,

We both turn to my mother and she was still pacing. I hoped I could get through to her.

Mom, please I am begging you. Let's just go on a run and come back. We have to calm you down. If you don't I will have to order you to and I don't know if you'll ever be able to shift again.  I tried to reason with her and her wolf making it clear that if I have to force her back, her wolf may die again.

That got through cause her wolf visibly relaxed and stopped pacing. Fine.  she said.  We will go on a run, we will calm down my wolf before I do something I regret.

If Grandfather really did this, I'll see he is put to judgement. I'll see he is put to death the same way dad was.

You'd better Julianna. If you don't I will.  She threatened.

I understood why she did it. My wolf hated the disrespect but she knew this was calming to our mother so we let her get away with it

Lusius was quiet I called members of the pack over to run with my mother so she could calm down.  Just to be safe I called in the strongest and the fastest wolves in. They were curious but knew better than to ask. I called in my uncle as well to go with her just so she would have the comforting presence.

When everyone was gone I looked over at Lusius, God he was beautiful. My wolf purred at the thought. He looked up and I quickly looked away and I felt a blush run over my face. I cursed myself for being this way. I was an Alpha not some love sick pup. I started to walk away when he grabbed my arm and pulled me in close.

"Don't you ever be embarrassed around me, especially when it's you appreciating your mate." He said as he tucked a lose strand of hair back behind my ear and gently kissed my fore head.

I realized this was the first time my mate had actually touched me. My wolf was at totally bliss basking in the wealth of emotion she and I were feeling.  I looked up at him and he placed a light kiss on my lips.
