"Stay in the T.A.R.D.I.S.," The Doctor ordered. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest. He didn't know what Elizabeth and I had planned. We both knew that he wasn't going to approve of the idea. I would be too close to the action and if something happened to me, he would hold himself responsible. All that mattered to us was that we got The Black Widow out of power to have her people be free again. If they were going to have a ruler, it was going to be one that they approved of. "Charlotte, I mean it. Stay here. Elizabeth and I will, hopefully, be able to get to her without a problem."
I rolled my eyes again but nodded my head. If our plan was going to work, we needed him to believe that I was going to follow his orders. We were banking on his faltering when I came in.
"Make sure you bring him back safe and you kids have fun," I retorted, trying hard as anything to keep him out of the loop.
"If anything happens, the T.A.R.D.I.S. is programmed to take you back home," he said as he pulled me into a hug. "If everything goes as planned..."
"I know, you will be bringing me home yourself." I returned his hug and watched as they left in the direction of the castle. I closed the door behind them and ran off to the wardrobe room that Elizabeth had shown me earlier.
Inside this room were outfits from every century and every world imaginable. There were clothes for men and women. There were numerous wigs and other accessories. There were shoes that looked as if they would cost only pennies and pairs that would make the richest women in New York City cry since there was no way that they would be able to afford them.
I reached into my pocket and pulled out an old picture that Elizabeth had given me. It was a picture of The Black Widow while she was still going by the name of Maggie Marjello. She was wearing a plain, brown dress that went down to her feet with a white shirt underneath. Her shoes were also plain. They were simple, brown flats. Her hair was much longer than mine was, meaning that I would need to find a wig that was acceptable. She was much prettier in this picture than she could ever been as the over-ruling queen of this place.
I moved about the room quickly. I had to find everything in a timely manner. They were going to need me soon. With so many clothes, one would think that it would be difficult to find the items that I was looking for but I was able to in a matter of moments. All those times Benny needed me to go out and get him something specific to wear in some random store in the city definitely paid off.
As I was changing into Maggie Marjello, I let my mind wander back to when I was on Earth. I missed the few friends that actually meant anything to me. I even missed Benny. But that part of my life was over. I needed to push all of the memories out of my mind and focus on the task at hand. When I was done, I rushed over to the floor-length mirror and stared at my reflection. I was someone else entirely. I held up the picture and compared my reflection to it. I no longer looked like Charlotte Evermore. I now appeared to be Maggie Marjello, the woman who would soon be known as The Black Widow.
"Where's your latest companion now, Doctor?" The Black Widow asked as she stared at the man. He was still on his feet but his arms were held behind his back by Collin. Another guard was holding Elizabeth. Collin had refused to keep his baby sister from going after his older sister. If there was a problem with blood, that was between them and he was not going to stop whatever happened just because he was ordered too.
"Leave her out of this Maggie," The Doctor replied angrily. He was very protective over the people that were in his care. "She is of no concern to you."
"Instead, you get my family involved! What does that say about you? The one who has no family," she replied with so much venom in her voice.
"Maggie..." Elizabeth began before her sister punched her in the stomach. Elizabeth fought to remain on her feet as she hunched over from pain.
