B A S I L E
As I walked to work I was so caught up in my thoughts that I just walked right past the cafe.
I was thinking about whether or not I should take Zachary to the wedding dinner. The wedding dinner wouldn't be a public event but it would still cause talk among my family. Zachary would be the first person I had ever brought to a family gathering.
I decided that I would call Jean once I got to work and ask him what he thought.
Once I was in my office and I knew what I would be doing today I found a way to make time to call Jean and to stop by to see Zachary.
It had been about two hours since I began working and I had a thirty minute break so I could call Jean and stop by and see Zachary.
I dialed Jean's number and he picked up on the third ring, "Basile?" He asked surprised that I called him twice in one month, "Is something wrong?"
"No, nothings wrong but I have a few questions."
"What?"
"Well I met someone and-"
He cut me off before I could finish, "Wait what? Who is he or she?"
"That's not really important right now, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to bring him with me to the wedding dinner."
"Well do you like him?"
I was silent for a few seconds, thinking about my feelings for Zachary, "...Yes." I finally answered.
I could just imagine him smiling, "I think you should bring him."
"Okay." I said, I planned to asked him in a few days. We had about a week in a half before the wedding dinner and then another month before the actual wedding.
"Grayson, the kids and I are going to be there in a few days, we should go get dinner some where before we meet for the wedding dinner."
"I'll think about it." I replied simply.
"Oh come on Basile, we haven't seen you in almost a year."
"Okay fine, we will talk later."
"Bye." He said and hung up.
I put my phone in my pocket and walked out of my office and rode down the elevator to the lobby. I walked out of the building and headed for the cafe.
Once I was inside Zachary smiled, "A little late."
"I know, sorry."
"Your fine." He said turning around to make my coffee which I really needed at this point.
I looked around and notice that there were a few people sitting at the booths but the lady that is usually behind the counter with Zachary wasn't there.
As he set my coffee in front of me I paid and asked, "How would you like to go to dinner with my brother, Jean, Grayson and I?"
His eyes widened, "Are you serious?" he asked.
The corner of my lip turned up in a smile, "Yes."
"I would love that."
"I will let my brother know then, they are supposed to be here in a few days."
"Awesome, thank you for inviting me." His eyes were bright and his smile was huge with happiness.
"Of course. Well I better get back to work, I will call you later." I said as I walked out of the cafe and back to work.
As I walked down the sidewalk I played with the key chain that Zachary had gotten me.

I couldn't believe Basile had invited me to dinner with Jean and Grayson. I felt special. I couldn't help but smile.
When Margret came back from the restroom she gave me a questioning look, "What's got you all happy?"
"Nothing, I'm just in a good mood is all."
She narrowed her eyes at me, "Sure." She smirked.

I was back in my apartment painting, this time I was painting the Eiffel Tower. Right beneath that were the words je t'aime.
I smiled once I had finished. I decided to hang this one above my bed where the other Paris inspired paintings were.
I had just sat down on my bed when my phone started ringing. I looked down at it and saw that it was Basile. I smiled and answered, "Hello?"
"Zachary, I talked to my brother again and we decided and Saturday. Is that okay for you?"
I smiled, "Of course, that's perfect."
"Great, I will pick you up at eleven on Saturday."
"Okay, see you then."
"Bye."
"Bye." I said and we hung up.
I got back up from my bed and made a quick dinner then sat down and watched outside as the many people and cars dwindled down to just a few as night came close.
Finally when I couldn't keep my eyes open I moved back to my bed and laid down for the night, letting sleep take over.
Sorry it's short and crappy. This is basically just a filler chapter prepareing you for everything else I have planned ;)
