Z A C H A R Y

When I went to work the next day I was surprised so find Basile there again. Based on what Margret said yesterday, I could gather that he doesn't usually come by here often.

I smiled at him and took his order. I took his money and turned to make his coffee.

When I had it finished I set the coffee down on the counter but I didn't let go yet, "Have a nice day." I smiled.

"You too." He said looking me in the eyes for a second before walking out.

As he walked away I couldn't help but think about his piercing blue eyes and how they seemed to look in your soul everytime he looks at you.

I couldn't help but hope he came by here again tomorrow.

After the morning rush there were only four people left in the cafe and they were all sitting in the booths with laptops infront of them.

I turned to Margret and she wore a confused look, "Did I see Basile La Boussière again this morning?"

"Yeah." I said, feeling the corner of my lip turn up in a half smile.

She smiled at me and narrowed her eyes, "Do you like him?"

I rolled my eyes, "I don't even know him."

"And you probably will never get to."

"Why?" I asked.

"Nothing against you. But he has never been in a relationship with anyone before. He devotes all his time into work. The only people that now him on a personal level are his family."

I felt something in me die. I guess I had grown fond of him in the two days I've seen him.

I sighed, it's my fault for falling in love with everyone I see.

Once I was at work I listened to Archer's daily rundown of meetings I was to attend and phone calls I would have to take.

Once in my office I immediately got to work, signing papers and calling a few business partners.

Once I found time to take a thirty minute lunch break I found myself thinking of Zachary. His bright smile and innocent eyes were quite distracting at times.

I sighed as I sat back down to get to work.

It was almost seven in the afternoon when I left work and as I passed the cafe that Zachary worked at I couldn't help but slightly smile.

I decided I would go again tomorrow for three reasons. One, I actually enjoyed walking to work. Two, the coffee at that cafe is the best. And lastly, I wouldn't mind seeing that bright smile again.

Once I was home I went straight to my bathroom and started running the water for a hot bath.

I removed my clothes and slowly sank into the steaming hot water letting out a pleased sigh at the heat on my skin.

Over the years I have found I like baths more than showers. Baths are far more relaxing.

Once I was finished with my bath I put on some sweats and a t shirt then went to my kitchen to make my dinner.

After I was finished with my dinner I went to bed and fell into a dreamless sleep.

When I woke up I had just finished getting dressed when I got a call from my mother.

I answered and her cheery voice picked up, "Hello Basile, have you talked to Celian recently?"

"No, why?" I asked. I haven't talked to Celian in about a month. Last I heard he was taking Alexandria, his girlfriend of over a year now, on a vacation to Australia.

"He proposed to Alexandria when they were in Australia. They plan on getting married in two months."

I was taken back by this news, I never took Celian as one to settle down with someone. But I guess after years of one night stands you can finally find that one you want to be with for the rest of your life.

"Wow," was all I managed to say.

"I know, I can't believe your baby brother is finally getting married. You know you'll be the only one left that hasn't married."

I groaned, "Mother."

"Oh Basile I'm just worried your too into work." She says this all the time, "I mean for heavens sake you don't even have any friends do you?"

"I don't need any." I said simply.

I heard her sigh on the other line, "Well anyway, I was calling to let you know that you will be coming to the house in a month for their wedding dinner."

"Thank you, I will save the date."

"You know you could bring some one if you'd like."

"Good bye mother, love you."

"Love you, too." She said and I hung up.

I finished getting ready and I was out the door. I stopped at the cafe and was greeted by a smiling Zachary, I ordered what I always do and he made it just a perfect as the last time.

"See you tomorrow." I said as I walked out and to work.

When I was in the door Archer walked up to me and before he could get a word out I said, "I'm going to need to take a week off in a month and another week off in two months."

"Do you mind if I ask why?"

"My little brother is getting married."

"Congratulations."

I nodded, "What is my schedule for today?" I asked as we rode the elevator to my office.

He read my schedule aloud and it was the same as any other day. And just like yesterday I got in my office and got to work.

Sorry for the wait lovelies!
