LIV.
I woke up the next morning in a confused daze. The last thing I remembered was falling asleep on Niall during the movie. Gosh, that's embarrassing. He went out of his way to come comfort me and then I go and fall asleep on him. Looking around, I realized I was no longer on the couch but in my bed. Walking into the kitchen, I found Piper there making waffles. I raised my eyebrows at her, and she grinned at me in return. "You have a good sleep, princess?"
"Princess?" I chuckled. "Since when am I princess?"
"Since your prince came to your rescue," she smirked.
"He's not my prince," I muttered, ignoring the nagging feeling in the back of my brain. "He's my friend."
"Ooo-kay," Piper said, stretching out the o. "If you say so."
"Did you move me to my bed last night?" I asked, changing the subject. "Because I'm pretty sure I don't sleepwalk."
It was her turn to raise her eyebrows at me. "I didn't move you."
"Well, then who..." my voice trailed off as it dawned on me that Niall must have carried me to my bed last night. "Oh."
I walked back into my room, and found a note that I hadn't noticed before, resting on my bedside table. It read:
Liv-
I hope you're feeling better, just text me if you need anything. I moved you to your bed, I hope you don't mind. I just figured you'd be more comfortable.
-NiallI couldn't help but smile at the note. Before I knew what was happening, Piper reached from behind me and plucked the paper from my fingertips. Her eyes scanned it, and she looked up at me. "He's just a friend, huh?"
I felt my cheeks flush and my stomach flutter. "Yes, I told you."
She sighed, saying, "You poor thing, in denial."
"I'm not in denial!" I said indignantly. "We really are friends."
"Okay, whatever. By the way, I have news," she grinned.
"Oh yeah. What's the occasion? Because you never make waffles unless something special has happened."
"Louis told me he liked me!" she burst, unable to contain herself any longer.
I shrieked in joy for my best friend. "I knew it! I told you he liked you!"
Nothing could of wiped the huge smile off her face.
"Had you asked you to be his girlfriend?"
"Not yet," she admitted. "But we're going on a lunch date today."
Suddenly, I remembered a very significant piece of information. "Piper, we only have two days left in London."
The brightness in her eyes dulled at this, and we both sat in depressing silence, taking it in.
"Well, a lot can happen in two days," she said, trying to lighten the mood.
"True," I laughed.
