LIV.

The next morning, Piper, Louis, Niall, and I walked around the streets of London together. We had asked Liam if he wanted to come, but he declined. "I'd rather not be a fifth wheel, but thanks," he'd said jokingly.

Liam had recently broken up with his girlfriend Sophia, so understandably, he didn't want to tag along for double dates.

I reached for Niall's hand and he shot me an adorable smile, his blue eyes bright. My stomach flipped and I smiled back, unable to contain the giggle that slipped through my lips.

"What?" he asked, amused. "What's so funny?"

"I just really like you," I said simply as I kissed him on the cheek.

He glanced down at me in surprise before blushing. "I really like you too." Grinning, he nudged my shoulder playfully. "A lot."

Piper and Louis walked a few feet in front of us, and I gazed at them affectionately. Louis brought Piper's hand to his lips and kissed it lightly before intertwining her fingers with his. She giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck, whispering something in his ear. He looked at her mischievously and kissed her right on the lips.

"Who would've thought?" I murmured.

"Who would've thought what?" Niall asked, brushing his thumb gently over my hand.

"All this, all of this. I mean, it's kind of crazy, if you think about it. Scratch that. It's completely insane. Piper and I meeting you guys. I mean, you're One Direction. Piper is falling in love with the love of her life. And you and I. Who would've thought that anything like this could happen?"

"Do you believe in fate?"

"I don't know. Do you?"

"I believe in things working out like they should."

I pondered this as my mind wandered over the events of my time here in London. Things certainly did seem to work out. Not like I had expected, but how they should. Cheesy as it sounds, I had thought Harry would be the one to sweep me off my feet, when in the end it was really Niall who stole my heart.

"In that case, things definitely worked out how they should."

Niall raised an eyebrow, pretending to be confused. "Oh? And how's that?"

"Oh shut up, you know exactly what I'm talking about. And look at those two. They're adorable," I chuckled as Louis grabbed Piper by the waist and swung her around in the air. She shrieked joyously, her dark brown hair flying. "Lou!"

Louis set her down and looked at her innocently. "What's wrong, P? What did I do?"

Piper smirked and grabbed his shirt, pulling his face to hers. "Oh, you know exactly what you did." She kissed him hard and broke away grinning as he looked at her, wide eyed in surprise.

The four of us continued to walk down the street together, laughing and talking.

"Do you miss your family?" Niall asked as we turned the corner.
