Ch. 1

Katie was sitting on a bench waiting for someone. Katie is blonde with bright blue eyes (the type that seem to sparkle in the sunlight). A guy is walking along with his friends and Katie got excited. There he was, Mark, the boy of her dreams. His red- brown hair, his hazel-blue eyes, and his awesome abs were all a girl could ask for. He was walking in her direction. "What should I do?" Katie thinks frantically.

While she was busy trying to look better than she did, Mark walked over and sat down next to her. "Hey, what's up?" he asked. Katie just about screamed. Mark Evans was sitting next to her and talking to her!

"Nothin much. You?" she replied calmly.

"I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out some time."

What! He wanted to hang out with her! "Hold it together Katie. Don't go all whacko." She thought to herself.

"Sure that would be awesome."

"Cool," Mark said before getting up and walking away. Katie's eyes dropped to the phone beside her. It wasn't hers so the phone must be Mark's. She grabs the phone and runs after Mark.

"Mark, wait. You forgot your phone!" as soon as she caught up to him, he turned around.

"Surprise!" he screamed. That wasn't Mark it was Jack. But she could have sworn it was Mark. Jack and Katie had been enemies since grade school why was here?

Katie heard Jack yelling at her, "Wake up Katie. The only way he'd like you is in your dreams..."

"Katie! Katie wake up sweetie. It's time for school," her mom said as she shook Katie awake.

"Noooooo! I hate school," she said to no one for her mom had already left the room. Katie got out of bed and got ready for school. She wore dark blue skinny jeans, a sleeveless purple top, and black flats. She curled just the bottom part of her semi-long blonde hair. She added a bit of lip gloss. After picking up her backpack, Katie went downstairs.

"Nice of you to join us," her big brother, Luke, said jokingly, "I thought you'd stay up there forever." Like Katie, Luke was blonde but with brown eyes instead of blue. He was 6ft tall, a senior, and just a great person to be around. Katie loved her brother even though he would make fun of her.

"Well, I had to get ready," she retorted. "It takes a while to look perfect."

"Then you might want to spend a little more time up there to reach that goal," Luke laughed after making this comment. Katie just rolled her eyes.

Luke on the other hand was laughing and kept making comments about her non-perfection.

At that moment, Josh, or Joshy as they sometimes refer to as, walked into the kitchen. He was only four years old. He had brown hair with blue eyes just like Katie's. "What's so funny?" he asked in that adorable little kid voice.

"Oh, nothing ,Josh. I was just teasing sissy." Sissy was Josh's nickname for Katie.

"Oh, ok," he replied.

Katie looked at the clock and said, "Luke, we have to go. We're going to be late to school if we don't leave in ten minutes!"

"All right. All right. I'm going." Luke got up from the table and went to the bathroom to brush his teeth. After that, he grabbed his backpack and headed for the car. Katie ran upstairs brushed her teeth, grabbed her phone ( plus Luke's phone because he always forgets it), and headed out the door.

"Bye, Joshy," she called before running out the door. Luke was honking at her from the car. She jumped in and Luke drove to the school. "I'm going to be late!" she thought to her self. Then she remembered she still had Luke's phone on her bag. "Hey Luke, forget something?"

"Not that I... oh crap forgot my phone."

"Don't worry I got it. Who's the best little sister in the world?" she asked with a smirk.

"I guess you are," Luke said before grabbing his phone.

By the time they got to school, Katie would have to run to her locker and then to her 1st period class. While she was running, she wasn't looking and ran right into something. Something hard. She looked at the ground and saw a two feet in front of her. It wasn't a something it was a SOMEONE. She looked up and saw a familiar pair of hazel-blue eyes. Mark Evans!
