Love does not follow logic

~~~~~~~~~~
It's been a week since that encounter. I told myself countless times that going after a girl like that was useless. I never went after girls who weren't interested in me anyway. And it's a waste of time to try to change their minds.
I know that. It is one of the rules I go by.
But it's already been a week, and before I realize it, I'm standing outside the café again. And all I could do was laugh at myself for acting like an idiot.
"You know ..." I jumped when I heard someone speak from behind me. It was that waiter – Chris.
"You can enter if you want," he said smiling. He even opened the door and offered me to go in.
"No, I was just..." I started.
"You're here for Nique, aren't you?" he smirked.
"I know, I saw you with her the other day. You're that pervert," he continued.
"Pervert?!" I exclaimed.
"That's what she said." He smirked again.
"Aren't you supposed to be waiting tables? Go and do your work properly!" I snapped. He's weighing on my nerves.
"It's not like I'm rooting for you or anything, since nobody actually had the opportunity to get to that point with her, but my advice, you should know her first before trying to make a move on her. She doesn't flirt anyway," he stated and then went in.
I scoffed at myself. Why the hell would I want to know who she is? I already decided not to bother with her anyway.
She's just too troublesome. And I don't like girls who act stubborn.
I composed myself. It's time to get a grip. This will be the last time.
I was about to leave when I accidentally bumped into someone.
"Oh, sorry," he apologized and I nodded to also excuse myself.
"Rei!" I heard him call when he went in.
I turned to leave but then completely stopped when I saw the person he was calling to. It was her. And I thought her name was Nique?
I saw "Nique" wave at him and even smiled. When he suddenly ruffled her hair, she got mad and tried slapping his hands away.
I grinned.
But instead of stopping on what he was doing, he laughed and ruffled her hair even more. I thought she'd snap, but then she also laughed at his childish actions.
I scoffed. I never thought she actually knew how to smile. She struck me as the antisocial, timid girl who was a loner. Those types barely smiles. That's why they're too much trouble to even consider as a prospective girlfriend.
When that guy finally sat down, I saw "Nique" closing the book she was reading earlier and set it aside then tried to fix her ruffled hair. When the guy tried to help her, she didn't even flinch, or react and just let him.
Now who's the one who doesn't flirt! Tell me again, who?!
