Hyerin's POV
"Annyeonghaseyo principal, I am here to tell you the truth behind this smoking thing." I tried to sound determined as much as possible in order to let the principal listen to my reason.
However, I'm still afraid if he will contact my parents about this because I don't want to get scolded for doing such a thing in a school.
"What brings the top student, Choi Hyerin, here out of the blue?" Principal asked me calmly.
"The thing is that-" I got cut off.
"Da- , I mean principal. I'm the one who smoked so please hurry up and punish me." Jin tried to cover up for me which made me feel even worse.
"No, principal! I was the one who smoke and he was falsely accused." I gave my reason then the principal gave us a 'what' look.
"She has nothing to do with thi-" Jin got cut off by the principal.
"Alright, you two settle down." He said firmly. "Vice principal," He called Red Hulk and then he told him that,
"Please make them do the community services for today and don't let this story spread any further."Red Hulk gave a quick response and signaled both of us to come outside. We bowed down to the principal and started following Red Hulk outside the room. Jin left the room first then Principal called my name which made me stop to look at him.
"Choi Hyerin." I turned to look at him as he sighed. "You're the top student here and it won't be wise for Mr. Choi to know about this so this is your first warning." He said which made the burden in my heart lifted up.
"Neh." I bowed down and left the room. I followed Jin and Red Hulk outside the building. Everyone looked at us in disgusted, they whispered some things and started spreading false rumors but the problem is, I don't care.
I reached the school backyard and Red Hulk told both of us to put the the type of trashes into the right trash bins. There are tons of trashes and I just sighed, doing my work.
"Why are you so stupid?" Jin asked me while we were both putting the trashes into the right trash bins.
"What? Isn't it my fault that you got caught?" I stopped for awhile to look at him and he looked at me back.
"You were the one who gave it to me so it's already mine. And would it be a problem at all to see this kind of thing in a troublemaker's backpack?" He sounded annoyed as he looked back, putting the trashes in.
I didn't say anything back and I just continued my work. So did he. We didn't talk and we didn't even look at each other.
The bell rang indicating that the class ended and we're both done here as well. We went inside the building again, washed our hands and walked to class.
There were a few people in the class and the one who pissed me off the most is still here. I walked up to her in full speed as she looked at me and managed a small laugh.
"Woah, it's amazing to see you in such a mess." She placed her hand on her mouth, giving me a fake gasp.
"You did this on purpose, didn't you?" I asked her, looking at her straight in the eyes. She stopped laughing and folded her arms.
"What? I didn't know anything. I just wanted to find my wallet." She rolled her eyes.
"I can't believe you're such a bitch." I gritted my teeth and tears have already formed in my eyes but I don't want to look weak in front of this bitch. Her intention is too obvious that even dense people would know.
She steadily released her arms that were folded and slapped me hard on my cheek. I touched my own cheek and looked at her without blinking. She looked pissed and I do not care.
"Who are you to say this kind of word to me?" She yelled and tears have already fallen out from her eyes. I released my hand from my cheek and about to slap her back but I felt a hand grab mine from behind.
I looked backward to see Donghoon grabbing my wrist. "Why is the Class Prep being such a bad role model for her own class?" He almost yell at me, judging from his loud voice. He grabbed my wrist so hard that it hurts.
Immediately, I felt a hand separated my wrist from Donghoon's hand. Jin grabbed Donghoon by his collar and slammed him to the whiteboard.
"Ya! What are you doing?" Jin yelled at Donghoon, causing him to roll his eyes and grit his teeth. "You're also the one behind this, am I right?" Jin continued as Donghoon released Jin's hands from his collar.
Donghoon didn't say anything which made Jin speak more. "You were the one who kept the cigarette back into my backpack last night." Jin spoke causing shiver down my spine.
"What are you talking about? There's not even a proof that I did it." Donghoon protested.
"Then who? You think Namjoon would do this kind of low and cheap tricks like you?" I felt Jin's anger rising.
Everyone fell silent. There's no one in the class beside the four of us. Donghoon didn't say anything but his fists clenched. Soojung didn't say anything either; she just stood there crying.
Jin let out a very big sigh and grabbed my wrist, leading me outside the classroom. He walked so fast that I barely picked up his pace. He didn't say anything and kept walking until we both arrived the lockers' hall.
He slammed me to the locker hard but not that hard and placed his hand on either side of my face. He stopped for a moment to catch his breath, looking on the ground then he looked at me.
"Have you gone insane?" He sounded annoyed, looking at me straight in my eyes. I was so fed up with everything. I didn't know what to say to him ... My tears that refused to fall started streaming down my face and I looked at the ground, avoiding his gaze.
I tried to wipe my tears away then I felt Jin releasing his hand from the locker and pulled me slightly closer that I got to snuggle between his shoulder and neck. I cried louder, letting my tears soak his shirt's collar.
I could feel his hand patting my head lightly. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have shouted." He continued patting my head and I kept crying louder and my heart kept beating faster.
