As Finn and Jake were sleeping they didn't realize that The Lich was actually hiding, hiding in a place he would not be seen by Finn and Jake or any of the people.
His first move would be to steal the Enchiridion a hero's guideline from Finn and Jake.
And with the book his not only immortality but unholy darkness would grow darker until the earth became a dark world. A dark world he would want to live in where everyone would have to suffer the wrath of having to be his henchmen, Finn and Jake had tried very hard to find him but lost hope and began to think he was dead but they were wrong because one that is dead can not die, now this was his time to get revenge the revenge he was seeking for a long long time.
So when night struck he went to the tree fort to steal the Enchiridion his first step was complete now it was time for the next move.
