Secrets are kept all the time, although the secrets I keep are unlike others of my age. I have been transferred to a new school, where I can start fresh; no one knows who I am or where I come from, or what I do.
My mission: find the Phoenix
The Phoenix is the greatest of weapons unknown of its location, only one man knows of its where abouts and my job is to find it and kill the man who kept it a secret. My employer is not of a mafia but is a threat in itself. He is known as anonymous P.

“To be or not to be, that is the question,” he says with the strangest look on his face, students laugh and stop when he waves them to silence, “No, actually the question is will you pass English this term? This term we are studying the one and only Shakespeare.” He peels off his fake moustache and gives it to one of the males before starting the lesson. He goes to his desk and logs onto his laptop, “I see we have a new student where is she?” two girls around me stick their hands in the air, with fingers pointing in my direction “Cally is it?” I nod, “you look pretty cool, do you know heaps about English?”
“Yes,” I say “I’m fluent.” The class erupts with laughter yet again.
The noise settles slightly, “I think we’re going to get on just fine, as long as you hand assignments in on time I’m all good.” What is with all the teachers and their “I’m not your teacher I’m your friend routine?” The class went by so fast; it nearly startled me when the bell rang, he has an odd way of teaching – entertain, engaging yet still cares for discipline. “Cally can you stay behind please.” He waved my piers out of the class room and closed the door, he turned to face me. “How are you?” he asks, trying to ease into a conversation.
“Fine”
“Okay, well I just wanted to see how you were finding the school so far?”
“It’s good”
“Have you made many friends yet?”
“I prefer to keep to myself.”
“Well, okay do you have any interests or hobbies?” He was trying so hard to hold a conversation with me, I didn’t feel bad for him, in fact I had the urge to complete my mission there and then, but I still haven’t identified the location of the Phoenix.
“Physical exercise”
“How about tomorrow morning you meet me at the gym, I will get someone to give you a tour, I will even introduce you to my son, he is your age, he does kick boxing, maybe he can show you some of his moves.” He has a son? This was a surprise, I knew everything about this man and yet I didn’t know he had a son.
The rest of the day went as equally as fast as the English class I had had with Mr Taylor. The rest of my afternoon I planned to spend training, but the thought of Mr Taylor having a son kept popping into my head, I needed to find out what that was about. On my way out of school I saw him again “Cally!” I hear my name being called from across the parking lot “Cally! Wait!” I turn to see Mr Taylor speed walking towards me. A large masculine boy stood next to me with a smile on his face and shook his head. “Dad, I think she heard you the first time.” So this is his son? I couldn’t help but smile when I saw the resemblance in height, eye and hair colour; to be honest; I wasn’t disappointed - no snap out of it.
“Hey, you were probably wandering where the gym was so I printed off a map for you.” He handed me an A4 piece of paper, I look down at it and subconsciously smile X marks the spot. “Oh, I see you’ve met my son.”
“No dad, all I heard was your voice yelling to some poor girl, who if I may add looked scared shitless.”
“No I didn’t,” I corrected him. Silence.
“Anyway this is my son, Nick,” he said motioning at nick
“Nice to meet you, uh” He waits for me to tell me my name,
“Cally, my name is Cally”
“Okay,” he looked back at his father “Why were you giving her a map to the gym?”
“She is new and has said she enjoys physical exercise, so…”
“He printed a map off for me, so I could find it for tomorrow morning.” His face turned serious, and he turned back to his father.
“But dad, training just got really intense and – ” he was cut off with what I am now calling “the wave of silence”
“You will be kind to her tomorrow and help her out” Mr Taylor said with a small amount of force in order to ensure his son would not disobey him.
“Yeah, I will help you out tomorrow if you want?” I thought about it for a moment, when a thought suddenly hit me, instead of doing research tonight about his son, I could go straight to the source tomorrow morning.
“Yes, that would be nice.” I hated the feeling of having to be nice to people for no reason, I wanted to punch something.

I got back to the house I would be renting for the next eight months, hopefully. It was a three bedroom one bathroom house and yet I only needed three rooms. My bedroom, the bathroom and the kitchen, I had hidden cameras around the perimeter as well as weapons and ammunition. I log onto my laptop and open my email; it has three passwords as well as an inscription code to keep out unwanted people. A new email has come through titled Classified as they all do; I opened the word documented link and printed it without even looking at it. I walked over to the printer and waited for last page to be printed off. I picked up the thirteen pages, still warm from the printer and turned them around. In big bolded capital letters it read Target: TAYLOR, Michael.
It was the same email I had received a week ago from my new employer – anonymous P. I didn’t know who he was all I knew was the he was indeed a he and Mr Taylor had obviously done something to piss him off, like, I don’t know keep one of the biggest unknown weapons a secret for 16 years.
