I pull up to his … mansion on my bike. I see people entering the house with gifts. I run my finger across an almost invisible scanner on the bike seat which allows it to lift. It contains a small compartment, in it is a box. I take it out and close the seat down, which locks automatically.
Upon entering the large house, it runs through my mind on where to start looking, and what I should start looking for. I am surrounded by superheroes and princesses. Across the room I see Lonsdale dressed up as wander woman and Daniel dressed up as superman. His black hair was slicked back, which didn’t look too bad. I immediately search the room for anything, that would give me even the slightest clue into what I’m looking for… nothing. I look to my right to see a photo of Mr Taylor and Nick together, they were both wearing suits. I could see Mr Taylor stand next to me in my peripheral vision, but didn’t turn my head. For some reason I couldn’t tear my eyes away from Nick in this photo.
“I’m glad you could make it” he says to me, trying to ignite a conversation.
“I am too”
“So, who are you, no, wait, let me guess” he thinks for a moment, still looking at the photograph in front of me. “Your, Elektra”
“Yes”
“I’ve always been good at guessing games” he said with a smug look on his face.
“Where is Nick?” HOLY CRAP! Where did that come from? It question slipped out of my mouth before I could stop it.
“He’s up in his room” I finally tear my eyes away from the photo to look at him, “he hasn’t been down since the party started, maybe I should go up and get him.” I put my arm out to stop him in his tracks.
“I will go” I turn away from him and walk up the stairs.
“Hey Cally,” he fixes up his Fred Flintstone tie “thanks.” I give him a nod and continue up the stairs.
There is a long hallway that breaks off into separate rooms; I find a room where just above the room a name plaque sat that read ‘Nick’. I knock once and with no response I enter the room. “Nick,” I say listening for an answer “Nick, are you in here? It’s Cally” still no response. I pull down the sleeve on my left arm so that my whole palm is covered. I press on the centre of my palm and within three seconds a small touch screen appears. I find a table next to me and place the box from my bike on it and walk to the centre of the room. I scroll through the menu on the touch screen and touch the one that read ‘camera’. I stuck out my right arm, horizontal to my body, with my hand in a fist. I turn in a circle allowing the scanner to find any hidden camera. It beeped once, the screen then read ‘NO CAMERAS FOUND’. I put my arm down and let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. I look around, seeing nothing that really caught my attention. I hear a sound coming from the walk in wardrobe, it sounds like sniffling. It better not be a freaking teenage girl.
I open the door to see Nick on the floor of his walk in wardrobe. Photos are scattered everywhere and there is blood on the floor. “Nick,” I say, hoping he would turn around, instead the sniffling stops. He turns his head to the side “Get Out!!” I don’t move. He wasn’t wearing a costume. I don’t know why, but seeing him like this, tugged on something deep down. “Nick, let me see,” he hesitated but after several minutes he held out his hand, revealing a cut, a deep one at that. I walk over to him and help him stand. I take him to his bed and watch him sit down. “Where is your first aid kit?” I ask him.
“Under the TV, in cabinet,” he says pointing towards his 62 inch plasma TV. I walk over and open the door and find a first aid kit. It was very similar in size as to what schools normally have. I place the box next to him and turn to walk into his bathroom. I find a towel and soak it with water. When I come back out he’s trying to get a look at how deep it is.
