QOFD: Don't choose the one who is beautiful to the world. But rather, choose the one who makes your world beautiful.
Chapter 2: What She Really Want is...
The believing woman when seeking a spouse does not just seek a man. She seeks a man of Quran, a man of Sunnah, a man of Deen. A man of 'amal (action.) -
It does not suffice her - merely knowing that he is a male, and has the qualities of a man. What suffices, is knowing that he strives to attain the qualities of a real man, the qualities of Allah's Messenger ﷺ as he was the best man to walk on the face of this earth. And men come in all shapes and sizes, but real men only appear when they adorn themselves with acting upon the Qurand and Sunnah. -
She's not saying that he has to be the most perfect creature on earth, of course not because that would be impossible. What she's saying, is that he needs to try. He needs to try to be a man of Quran, Sunnah and Deen. -
Big muscles, nice cars and a flash house will not amaze her. It won't make her jaws drop in awe. What will amaze her is the fact that he will try to implement the little details of Sunnah which people fail to notice. For instance, his use of the Miswaak before he goes to pray. Or his consistent effort in reciting Quran every day. Perhaps even the fact that he dresses himself using the Sunnah method.
These things which appear to be insignificant in the eyes of most men, are the things which will make him most valuable in her eyes. And there is nothing more beautiful than a man who adorns himself with acting upon the Quran and Sunnah, because through these two he may cloak himself with Taqwa. -
So really, the believing woman does not ask for much from her husband. She only asks for that which Allah and His Messenger ﷺ ask for, from him.
And this is because she doesn't want the diamonds of this world, rather she wants to enjoy the diamonds of the hereafter with him. -
