Chapter Fourteen: Last words

When we met with Margeitt, She calmly says "I see there's no challenge here for your people love you as they did Elle." This made me very pleased, and also helped my nerves a little. I had to admit what Margeitt had said yesterday really sank in at this very moment and I surely got nervous as quick as the witch who summoned herself as a demon! Masley put his arm around me reassuring me I would be just fine. However the voices in my mind told me otherwise.
Why oh why did the divines create use with a conscience?! "Okay, Feralla do you remember what I showed you? You'll go out onto the balcony and meet with the highest priest Kyne Lo, and then--" "KYNE LO!? I KNOW OF HIM!" She shushed me quickly, "Now yelling is not very queenlike Ms. Valinruud." I lowered my head in cowardice, "My apologies Margeitt. Go on," She continues. "then grab the wand of guidance along with the crystal of intelligence, while reciting the divine prayer letting Esmeralda pass through you to heaven and you giving yourself to your kingdom. Ready?" I straighten up, "Yes madame." She nods, "Good, now proceed."
She motions for me to walk out onto the balcony. I begin and I see her through the corner of my eye mouthing the words CHIN UP. I walk out with my head held high and my hands folded in front of me. Masley follows me with his hands folded the same except behind his back. My father, who was now named Chief Scholar of Royals, followed Masley with hands the same way and stood directly next to him. Kyne Lo smiles at me winking and presents me, Masley and my father to the people. He recites a poem written by an elder who has since passed centuries ago. The poem spoke of a savior, and great battles to be fought. It also mentioned the interchangeable gift by the Sea Gods to be part human, and part merman.
After reading the poem, which was basically the ultimate prophecy, Kyne Lo began to talk about for years we knew this day would come, and how Esmeralda's greatest enemy would one day reap her kingdom of their greatest treasure, which was their queen. "Today however is the silver lining in this nightmare of a story. Today we are so lucky to have been blessed by the divines to have another heir. An heir who not only  is a strong and fearless leader as Queen Esmeralda was, but who is a direct descendant of the Goddess of Athena and her child Alessandra who was the mother of our new Queen, Ms. Feralla Serene Valinruud! She will now take the wand of Guidance that was handed down by Drakensuul himself," I gracefully accept the wand. "take the ancient crystal that was crafted by the great smart Gargesh" I accept the crystal. "and recite the language of the Divines and hold one last silence for Queen Esmeralda."
"Ak niik frutriin Kyne Lo daahk min ro tul van miik sruul ik tyn Feralla vo triin sel bok bul ak to rahh fah hin lo." I take these tokens handed to me by the great high priest Kyne Lo and promise as your queen, I Feralla will give myself and all I have to protect and serve my kingdom by the god's power invested in me. "We will now give Queen Esmeralda one last moment of silence as her spirit passes through me to the glorious clouds above and beyond into heavens." It seemed as though the entire realm was quiet for this occasion. Not even the nearby fish in the sea would breathe terrified they would interrupt the passing of her soul.
All of a sudden I felt an amazing feeling almost electric, run through my body. It was like the blood in my veins was racing against time, they shot incredible adrenaline through me and I almost fainted. However I had to stay strong for my people. I needed to be strong for Elle to reach her final destination. I told you, you would be a great leader, a beautiful bride and a great mother. Thank you for everything you have done for me and this kingdom my sweet flower. I promise to always be with you.  Suddenly it all stopped. I felt normal and her presence was gone. I was once again sad for a moment for that was my only comfort. I had to remind myself like I had said yesterday evening to Masley: She's happier where she is now.
"My dear kingdom, Queen Esmeralda Guievieres Majlatof has passed to the Gods and now can rest in peace. She is free from this realm and has given me permission to rule thy kingdom. My first order of business is to invite all of you into my home and come meet with me. Tell me all of your troubles so that I can fix them, Ask me questions so I may answer them, Let me guide you as Esmeralda guided me through my tough endeavors. Please people of Nautika let me show my unconditional love for you by protecting you from any evil! I promise we will have a bigger empire, stronger forces, and schools for our children. Thank you for accepting me and I will now bow to you in service." Kyne Lo crowns me with Elle's crown and a tear escapes down my face. All I hear shortly after is "ALL HAIL QUEEN FERALLA!"
