After I had drove at a dramatic snail's pace, we finally made it to the local movie theater, Spin 16. Everyone got out of the car and stretched as though we'd been in the car for hours, but was actually minutes.
"Thank GOD we're finally here," Wyatt said. Ellie nudged him hard. "Ouch! My bad!"
Stan laughed and linked his fingers between mine. "I'm just glad we got here safely. Even if Gertrude over here was driving slow." He leaned in to kiss me, but I turned my head, making him kiss my cheek instead. "Well shit." He laughed again.
We got into the movie theater and sat in the very back row, at the very center. We sat like this: Stan, Me, Ellie, Wyatt. We were watching some weird comedy movie called Church Basement Ladies, about some old ladies who sold drugs and prostituted women out of the basement of their church so that they could pay the church bills. It was crazy as hell, like the hangover series.
After the lights went down, Stan kissed me for a while until my head spun; we'd missed all the previews. It was hotter than the Devil's vagina in there, and as I took off my jacket, I noticed Ellie, who had already taken off her long sleeve shirt because she'd had a cami underneath it. I saw about seventeen thin, dark scars in a perfect line, running down her right arm like spaces in a notebook. A mixture of emotions filled me. Anger, confusion, sadness, worry, shock, and panic, and a lot more, probably. I noticed little letters tattooed on one of the lines, and as I strained in the dark to see the letters, I knew I wouldn't be able to see them unless I grabbed her arm and jerked it in front of me. She was currently lost in kissing Wyatt, so I felt it was the perfect moment.
Slowly I grabbed her arm and lifted it up, and squinted.
Heart-To-Heart, Ellie + Kat
Quickly and without a word, she took back her arm.
