Taylor sits, staring blankly at her TV screen. She can't bring herself to get into the programme that she's watching, too busy wrapped up in the thoughts in her head.
I shouldn't have let her leave like that the singer thinks. Her girlfriend Karlie had left to go to Paris for a shoot, and the model had left for the airport alone after an argument, and now Taylor was sat with a bigger ache in her heart than she normally had when missing her girlfriend.
I was being stupid. I shouldn't have said those things. I miss her.
Taylor had spent the last few days alone in her apartment missing the model and regretting the argument. Taylor looked at her phone for the time. Karlie's flight arrived in three hours.
Taylor knew what she was going to do.
---
Karlie gripped her bags tightly, aware of the crowd of people surrounding her, all heading in the same direction.
Dark circles hung under her eyes thanks to the sleepless nights she'd been having. She missed having the curve of her girlfriend against her as they slept, and the weight of their argument pressed down on the model.
Karlie regretted it. She said things she shouldn't have. Karlie was tired of hiding, of the beards, of the secrecy. She wanted to hold the singers hand in public. But she'd rather stay a secret for a thousand years than consider not having the girl.
All she knew now though was that she just wanted her girlfriend in her arms.
Karlie stepped on to the huge escalator, and surveyed the crowd of people that were collecting loved ones and business clients.
Then she spotted Taylor.
Her girlfriend was standing at the front of the crowd, a beaming smile on her face, a large sign saying "nerd" written in Taylor's swirly handwriting. Karlie couldn't help a huge grin and the blush that crept to her cheeks.
As soon as Karlie's foot left the escalator, she barrelled forward, running towards her lover. The model wrapped her gangly arms around the singer, leaving a desperate kiss on the top of her head as she relished the feeling of hugging her girlfriend again.
"I'm so sorry." Taylor mumbled into Karlie. "I was being unreasonable and you don't deserve that."
Karlie didn't say anything and drew apart, suddenly aware that they were in public. And that hug was anything but friendly.
"I don't care anymore Karls." Taylor smiled, knowing what Karlie was thinking. Karlie giggled and her heart thumped.
"Can I kiss you?" She asked.
Taylor answered by bringing their lips together. Karlie felt her stomach do backflips.
"I'm sorry for some of the things I said." Karlie murmured as they drew apart.
"We both said things we regret, but can we please just put it behind us? Because oh my god have I missed you."
Karlie looked at the raw vulnerability in Taylor's eyes.
"Of course." The two kissed again before settling into a tight hug. Karlie then grabbed her hand and her things and the two went to leave the airport, their fingers tightly intertwined.
"By the way, I got you something." Karlie murmured. Taylor's eyes shined.
"You didn't need-"
"I know." The singer smiled and hugged Karlie, the model giggling and wrapping her hands around her neck. After the hug Taylor said cheekily;
"What d'you get me then?"
"That." Karlie smirked and pointed to Taylor's chest. The shorter blonde looked down to see a necklace with a small golden 'T' on it around her neck, that Karlie had slipped on amidst the hug.
"Smooth." She giggled and then said sincerely "thank you."
"I love you Tay." Karlie replied.
"I love you too."
The two then grabbed hands again and walked out of the airport, a new sense of intimacy (even though neither of the two thought they could get any closer) in their hearts.
