My heart sinks. "You..you helped me.." I whisper. I can sense the annoyance in his expression. "That doesn't mean you have the right to talk to me." He says. I look down and feel my vision getting blurry. "I'm sorry... I didn't know. I croak. "Quit crying." He hands me the milk without having me pay. "Thank you." I quietly walk out.

I can't believe I was stupid enough to think he would want to see me. I don't even know him and I never will. I don't want to think about him ever again.

When I get home I quickly put the milk in the fridge and go to my room. I do my homework and go straight to bed, hoping to forget this feeling by the morning.

The next two days drag on slowly and it's finally Saturday. I agreed to meet up at a coffee shop with Dan, hoping for a temporary distraction. I put on something nice, A light brown sweater and black leggings perfect for the end of fall in New York.

When I arrive, he is already at a booth. "Hey! I smile and take a seat across from him. He laughs. "I can't believe we're seeing each other outside of school!" The waitress shows up and I end up ordering the same thing as him, a peppermint frap.

I look around the nicely decorated cafe and notice all kinds of people. But when I look up at the bar stools across the room, I see him. Jonah. Fuck. Right when I was starting to forget him. Our eyes meet for a slight second but I look back down.

The waitress gives us our drinks and I take a sip of mine. "Wow it's so good!" I exclaim. "You're cute when you smile." Dan says and drinks his. "Thanks." I blush. Over all the ruckus in the cafe, I can still hear footsteps passing by me. It's Jonah. He looks me in the eyes again, smirks and walks into the bathroom. Why was he trying to intimidate me like that? I wish he wasn't here. Why couldn't he just leave?!

I barely even notice that Dan has moved next to me. He slides his fingers on my hands and I feel a chill down my back. "I don't think you know how sexy you are in those leggings." He winks. "That's enough..." I whisper. "You're a virgin correct? I could make you feel amazing babe...." His words frighten me. He slips his hands under my shirt and touches my bra. "Stop!" I yell, tears flowing down my face. He pushes me down onto the cushions and gets on top of me. I push and shove, trying to get him off. "HELP!" I scream and close my eyes. I can hear footsteps and something slam.

I open my eyes to see Jonah pull Dan up and punch him so hard in the face it makes him fall to the ground. Jonah grabs my arm and we run as fast as we can out of the cafe.

I laugh as we reach the park and sit against a tree. "Why did you do that?" I ask while catching my breath. "Because you're so helpless." He smiles. That was the first time I've seen him smile and it makes my heart beat fast. "So it's okay that I talk to you?" I ask praying that he will say yes. "Sure. And who was that guy anyway?" He asks. "A stupid guy from school." I grunt. "Oh.." He says and seems sad.

"So what were you doing at that cafe?" I ask. "I go there almost everyday. It makes me feel less-" He stops there and looks away."Less what?" I ask. "Lonely I guess" He sighs. "Oh." I couldn't imagine someone like him being lonely. He looks at his watch. "Shit i'm gonna be late to work. I gotta go." He stands up and starts walking away.

"Wait!" I yell without even thinking about it. "When can I see you again?" I ask. He turns and smiles at me. "Whenever you want."
