I arrive to school 10 minutes late. I didn't want to be there. Ms. Winston doesn't scold me like she normally would. She probably still feels bad. I sit beside Imogen, hoping she doesn't ask why i'm late."Hey! She smiles. "I have something to tell you after class." I can barely keep myself focused as I attempt to pay attention.

Before I know it, the bell rings and Imogen pulls me into the hallway. "Ok Ok so Theo told he is asking you to the dance!" She says excitedly. "Oh.." I didn't have much time to even think about the dance. "What, why aren't you freaking out?" She asks. "Oh I just wasn't expecting him to!" I fake smile. "He's gonna ask you today so be ready." She winks and walks away.

I've had a crush on Theo ever since he joined in the middle of Freshman year.

I sigh and head to my second period, technology. The teacher tells us about a photography class after school that is starting on Wednesday. About a year ago, I wouldn't have hesitated to raise my hand. But thanks to my arrogant mom, I've changed.

Eventually the school day comes to an end and I meet up with Imogen outside the entrance. I spot Theo walking towards me and wave. "Hey!" He beams. "Whats up?" I smile. "Hehe.. I gotta go don't wanna be late for dinner! I'll see you guys tomorrow." Imogen laughs and sprints away. "Cassie... I was wondering if you wanted to go to the dance with me this Friday?" He asks. Shit. I totally forgot about that. I hesitate to answer. "Oh um I'll have to think about it. Thanks." I fake smile and start to walk away.

As I am passing the entrance, I spot someone as the corner of my eye. "What's up sugar?" He blows out cigarette smoke. I couldn't believe he was here. "Jonah? What are you doing here?!?" I snap. A few girls start to take notice to him. I pull him as far from the school as I can. "Bloody hell Jonah what do you want?" I grunt. "What? Not happy to see me?" He fake- frowns. "Not after ya ran off on me the other day." I sigh as we walk along the sidewalk. "Something came up. Thats all." He assures. "If you say so."

I notice he isn't in his work uniform. "Do you maybe wanna come over tonight?" I ask, remembering that Bella will be at work late. "Sorry got plans." He hands me the cigarette and I take a smoke. "K" I say trying to sound undefeated.

That night, I decide to go to Imogen's house. I knock on her door and it takes a minute until a random shirtless guy from our school opens it. He winks at me and walks out. She comes to the door smiling, and holding a wad of cash. "Gets the job done." She smirks and lets me in. "So you need something?" She asks. "Remember that one time last summer when we volunteered to help garden for that old stoner guy?" I snicker.

I end up going home with three bags of weed in my hands. As am about to board the bus, I spot Joah roaming around. I hide behind a tree and watch him walk into a flashy bar.

I shrug, wait a couple minutes and enter. There are tons of people, mostly young adults and occasional familiar faces from school. I scan the room, and what I see shatters me.

It's Jonah. A thick blond girl is sitting on his lap. And they're making out. I run out. Why the hell did this bother me? I kick down a trash can and run home.
