I searched through drawers, boxes and a wardrobe before I found what I was looking for. I thought I had finished this? Oh well.
I grabbed the small, half empty, brown bag and threw it on my desk. I opened the drawer next to my bed and searched for the cleanest blade I could find.
I poured the contents on the bag onto my desk and sat down. I picked up the blade and ran my finger along the sharp end, almost cutting myself. I scraped the blade against my desk, moving the contents around.
I had finally created my art. Five lines of white powder laid in front of me.
I smiled to myself, I was finally going to get high. It had only been a couple of hours since my last high but it had been a few hours too long.
I grabbed my red and white stripped tube and shoved it into my nose. I flinched. It always hurt but today it stung. I didn't pay any attention to it though and continued to lower my head towards the lines.
That's when I noticed it. My nose was bleeding. I pulled the tube out of my nose and grabbed a tissue. Nose bleeds weren't that uncommon with me but this time it was different.
I looked up, into my mirror, and stared at the figure. There Sasha, my girlfriend, was staring straight back at me. I spun around so fast, I almost gave myself whiplash. That may seem like an exaggeration but it felt like it.
She just gave me a small smile and whispered "hey." She slowly walked over to me and without a word held the tissue to my nose.
Her soft voice spoke so calmly, "after your nose stops bleeding we could go for ice cream, does that sound good?"
I just smiled and cupped her face. I moved her hands and gently kissed her nose. "Do you wanna go to Maggie's?" I asked, a smile forming in my face. She jumped up like a little kid and yelled "Hell yeah!" I chuckled, grabbed my wallet and we were out the door.
