Texting me maybe wasn't the best way of waking me up but after reading what Aydam, Sandy and Annie had all texted me I was more than happy to wake up. They had all said the same thing. "Family meeting at the 'spot'."
After throwing on the cleanest, least colourful, clothes I could find on, I closed the front door as quietly as I could. Now? I was currently lighting my third cigarette and walking through the woods in the town park. The wind blew through my hair and lifted the fresh smell of rain into my nose.
I ran my empty hand through my hair as I inhaled, deciding I was in need of a re-dye. I had been thinking of going a pastel colour for a while now, maybe a green or pink. I did like the though of going teal though. I might ask Sasha and Lizzy about it.
Soon I was entering a small clearing in the trees. Everyone was already there. I mumbled "Fuck." Underneath my breath and called out "Sorry I'm late guys!" I stubbed out my cigarette on a tree and sat down on a tree stump next to everyone else.
We all exchanged our normal greetings. That made me kind of suspicious. Why would they call a family meeting? "Ty.." Annie's voice broke me out of my thoughts. "Yes?" I asked back, drawing out my 's'.
"Sasha's brought to our attention that your... Addiction has gotten out of hand.." Sandy spoke slowly. "If you tell us why you started.. Then maybe we could help calm it down, maybe even stop it?" He was trying to act calm but I knew it was eating him away.
I smirked and looked up at them all. I haven't had to show them this side of me in a while. My.. Less sane side. I smiled, showing my teeth, that were soon going to rot. "My perception of reality and fiction have almost completely merged together. I take 'it' to stop that from happening. A sort of copping mechanism if you like." My smile faded and a worried look was whipped across their faces. "I'm okay though. I prefer everything to bounce around my head and eat me. I don't like burdening people with my problems."
"H-how long has this been going on for?" Sasha asked worry painted across every feature. "Fourteen" was my only reply.
Lizzy jumped up quickly. "We shouldn't sadden ourselves with this. Instead of talking it out we need to pry them apart ourselves. We can't just sit here and tell him what he should be doing and what he shouldn't. We have to help him by taking things off his mind. Trying to be his drugs, as his family." I'd never see her be so serious.
I stood up and walked over to her. I hugged her tightly. "Thanks baby sis." That resulted in me being pushed and a rant about how she was almost three months older than me. I didn't care. This was my family and I loved them to bits.
