I hope you guys enjoy this chapter. Even though it's late, Happy Thanksgiving! I hope ya'll had an amazing Thanksgiving and maybe this chapter will make your week just a little better. Although, I know nothing can top the joy turkey and stuffing brings people.
Pardon my French during one of the character's conversations.
Who wants to see more Brayden POVs? I haven't had him tell the story from his point of view in a while. Does it confuse anyone when I change the POV?
This chapter gives me all kinds of feels.~~~~~~~~
Once we were back at the Mayor's house we drove around looking for a parking place. As soon as we had parked, Brayden rushed over and opened the truck door for me.
"Thank you." I said blushing.
"Anything for you princess." He said as my blush deepened. When he said that, I felt my heart skip a few beats. It's funny how something like that can send someone's heart into overdrive.
With our hands intertwined, we walked down the path to the mansion. It was almost dark outside and the lights were lit up and shining brightly. As we walked in the door, we were directed to the ballroom. The room was dimly lit by a large chandelier in the center of the room. The whole room looked like something from a princess movie. Soft music was playing in the background.
In the corner of the room a large refreshment table stood with a punch bowl and other various items. People were standing here and there talking with one another. The women were dressed in formal gowns and the men were dressed in tuxedos.
I saw Jade on Jake's arm as they talked to Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins. I was extremely happy for them. I just hope that they can make whatever they have last, because they are good for each other.
Brayden pulled me closer to him when he spotted Mark glancing our way.
"I would love to bash his face in for hurting you." Brayden said angrily.
"So would I, but it would probably be best if we didn't" I told him.
"And why's that?" He looked down at me.
"He's dad is a circuit Judge of the county." I told him.
"It would still be worth it." Brayden said.
I took Brayden's hand and led him over to meet the rest of my family. He first met my Grandmother last who embarrassed me more times than not.
"I'm glad a good little fellow like you came into Aurora's life. It was about time she found someone. Little Aurora here isn't too good when it comes to boyfriends. So, please watch over her and be good to her." My grandmother pleaded.
"I will! Don't worry!" He said giving her a hug.
"He's a good young man. Hang on to him before someone snatches him up." She said winking.
My grandmother walked over to my grandfather who was currently busy talking my father about some new farming equipment he's looking out. I could see her trying to pull him onto the dance floor. I chuckled at them. Since I was a little girl I had always wanted to find a love like theirs.
"Would you like to dance, Princess?" Brayden asked me.
"Yes, Prince. I would love to dance." Brayden held my hand out for me to take. I laid my hand in his. He led me to the middle of the dance floor and we began to sway back and forth to the music. I laid my head on his chest and listened to the steady rhythm of his heart beat.
