Flashbacks haunted me every time I tried to sleep-my own brother dying in my eyes, along with my sister, mother and father, their hearts taken by the Queen herself. I managed to escape, but I regret it to this day.
"Bellamy! Bella! Wake up, please!" Jefferson had me by my shoulders. Sweat rolled down my forehead as I came to. "My dear, you're going mad."
I sat up, wrapping my blanket around me tighter. "Is Grace okay?" I asked. Jefferson smiled.
"Still in her cot, Bella. Go to sleep." He threw his arms around my waist. "She's fine. Just go to sleep." I pried him off of me and made my way towards our sleeping baby girl.
The blonde baby girl lay peacefully in her cot, occasionally rolling over and yawning. "See?" Jefferson came up behind me and I about freaked out.
I slammed my fist against his chest. "Don't do that!" I growled, but he grinned that grin which meant, "I'm going to pick you up whether you like it or not." So he did, but I just let him. I was too tired not to.
"My dear, you have to sleep," He said. "Just think of Grace before you sleep." Jefferson grabbed the blankets and threw them over top of us.
We had been married for about two years- Jefferson and I. But he hadn't changed since we were children. People thought we were insane, and that we shouldn't have a child. A tad insane? Yes. But not capable of taking care of my sweet Grace? We're perfectly sane to do just that.
About five minutes later, Jefferson's soft snoring hummed against my neck. I played with his long hair until fatigue got the best of me.
The nightmares wouldn't stop.
My mother and father were holding hands while on their knees. Two of the Queen's guards, who were dressed in black from head to toe and didn't show their faces, held long, thin swords in their gloved hands. I hid in the underbrush and watched my sister and brother, who were twins, being thrown onto their knees by Mother and Father by two more guards, who were dressed and armed the exact same way as the first set of gaurds. Genysis started sobbing. "Please, we did nothing wrong!" She cried. I felt bad for my family.
Jace looked at Genysis and tried to comfort her by putting his arm around her, but the guard behind him cut his arm with the sword. Red liquid oozed out of Jace's arm and I looked away. Regina walked in, leather pants and a matching trench coat to go with it. I eyed her suspiciously. "So," She said, looking at my Mother. "I've heard some things about you...theives...liars...murderers."
An old woman, Alexandra Pike, stepped out from the shadows. "You, Regina, are a liar... you murdered your own husband!"
Everyone gasped and jerked their attention to the Queen. "No," Regina said. "They're the murderers around here." She prodded my Mother with her boot. My Mother turned her head and a tear rolled down her cheek. Genysis screamed at Regina, and the Queen turned her attention towards my sister.
"It looks like she wants to be the first one to go." Regina squeezed Genysis's lips like she was a small child. "And her poor Mummy and Daddy have to watch it." Regina reached into Genysis's chest where her heart should've been and pulled out the one organ you needed to survive. She eyed the still pumping heart and I could tell my sister was in deep pain. The Queen squeezed her heart until Genysis fell into the ground, motionless, them dropped the ashes from her heart onto the ground. Mother screamed and ran over to my sister and sobbed.
Regina took my families lives in such a cruel way. When they see there own hearts being squeezed to the maximum amount and crumbling into dust... they have no chance to live. I saw myself run far away from the bodies of my family, never to be seen again.

"Good morning, Gracie!" I grabbed my baby girl and wrapped her in my arms. "How's Mama's favorite girl?" I kissed her forehead and two strong arms wrapped around my waist.
Jefferson kissed my cheek and then the top of Grace's head. "I love you," He said. "And her, of course."
"I know."
Grace giggled at her father, wrapping her tiny hand around her father's finger. "Breakfast?" Jefferson asked hopefully.
"If you watched Grace, dear." I said, picking up a glass baby bottle and handing it to my husband. "Or you won't get breakfast."
"Deal," He picked up Grace and smiled. "Maybe she'll get to try some."
I sighed. "No, Jefferson. Not yet, poor girl doesn't even have teeth."
Jefferson laughed and played with Grace on the floor. "Not the hair!" He cried. Grace giggled.
My babies. "Love, I'm going to cut your hair this afternoon, okay?" I said, grabbing flour, eggs, milk and cinnamon.
"Uh... okay." Jefferson looked up at me, an eyebrow raised in confusion.
"You really didn't have a choice, you know." I laughed. He nodded, a smile all over his face as he played with Grace.

"I got a letter," I mumbled. Jefferson shrugged. "From the Queen."
Grace was snuggled up in his arms, yawning every once in a while. "And...?" He looked at me from across the table.
"They're coming," I hung my head, tears began to fall. "I-I'm going to be executed."
He stood up and put Grace in her cot. "No you're not, you're joking, right?"
I shook my head. "No." I choked. "I-I love you."
Jefferson laid his head in the crook of my neck, warm tears falling onto my skin. "Then we'll hide. Never come back."
"I did that, years ago. She'll find me again. Just please, take care of Grace. I'll be back, you'll see, Jefferson. I promise."
Jefferson kissed my cheek, his eyes still red from crying, then nodded. "I promise too. I'll find you, I always do, don't I?"
I laughed and grabbed Grace, wrapped my arms around her small form. "I'll be back, Grace. Just wait for me."
I kissed Grace's forehead and cuddled her for hours, until the Queen and her men came to get me.
"Goodbye, my dear!" I yelled, clawing at the guard who had me wrapped into his arms so I wouldn't get away. "Jefferson, please, don't leave me." Jefferson ran towards me, but the guards pushed him back.
"I'll find you, Bella, I always will." He grabbed my fingertips and tried to kiss me, but was thrown back into the little house.
Eight years later...
"Please, just let me see them again. I have a right," I barked. "My husband and my daughter need me."
Regina sat on her sofa and stared at me. "Then we'll make a deal, Bellamy." She said. "Make me anything I request- dresses, cloaks, pants, anything- and I'll let your husband know you're alive. Deal?"
"Will you let me see them again?" I asked. "My Grace will be eight tomorrow. And Jefferson probably hasn't had a haircut in eight years."
The Queen sighed. "Perhaps."
"I need a definite answer, your majesty." I hissed. She glared at me.
"Fine." She said. "Guards! Take her back, she's going home."
I wanted to go home. And
