Chapter 50: Cheryl’s POV
I found hazel brown eyes staring back at me, ‘Kara’ I whispered, ‘I’ll go get a doctor’ Kim smiled before disapearing out of the room. I leant forward and kissed Kara lightly on the forehead. I turned as a doctor ran in the room and started carrying out some tests. He suddenly turned towards me and Kim, ‘Well all seems in order, just a bit of concussion and maybe some whiplash, apart from that she should be fine’ he smiled, I grinned for what seemed like the first time in weeks. ‘Thankyou doctor’, I turned back to Kara and squeezed her hand, ‘How are you feeling babe’ I queried, she just nodded, ‘I feel fine, seriously, just a few bumps and bruises, wheres Summer?’. I took a deep breath and glanced at Kim who nodded in response, I turned back to Kara, ‘erm babe, Summer was pregnant, she lost the baby but she is doing ok’ I mumbled. Kara nodded with a sad look on her face.
We were now all crowded around Kara’s bed, Kim was in the chair next to her bed, I was rested on her lap, Summer was sat the other side with Sarah and Nicola whilst Nadine was sat next to me and Kim. We had spent the whole day just talking and laughing, it felt good to actually laugh. Kim turned to face me and planted a light kiss on my lips before resting her forehead against mine, ‘Can we have a Christmas Wedding’ she smiled a beautiful smile, A huge smile graced my face and I found myself nodding before placing my lips upon hers once more. ‘Baby’ Kim said in a questioning tone, ‘yeah’ I mumbled into her neck, ‘When you’ve had this surgery, could we maybe have another child’ she whispered loud enough for just me to hear. I turned towards her and smiled, ‘Id love to have another child with you Kimba’ I mumbled before kissing her again. I realised that we must be getting somewhere because this was the first time that we had actually looked to the future since I found out about my cancer.
I lay on the hospital bed, terrified of what was to come. I could see Kim staring through the glass door as I awaited my treatment. This was it, this was the moment that I found out the time limit on my life; how long I had left, whether it be a month or year. Today was the day that I could start living my life again without knowing what the future held. I closed my eyes as the anaesthetic started to take effect.
My eyes flickered open as I began to wake up, I looked to my side to see Kim sleeping in the chair, I smiled at the sight. ‘Kimba?’ I asked quietly, suddenly feeling a light pain in my stomach. I took a deep breath and ignored the pain as I shook her lightly, watching as her eyes slowly opened. ‘Hey baby, are you ok?’ she whispered whilst squeezing my hand. I nodded, ‘Yeah, just a slight pain in my stomach but other than that, as good as knew’ I smiled. She smiled at me, ‘that will be where the stitches are, from where the tumour was removed’ she whispered as she ran her hand across the stitches marking each one with her finger. ‘I wish I could marry you right this minute’ Kim whispered against my neck before running a trail of kisses up to my lips and then placing a simple kiss on my mouth. I grinned, ‘me too baby but just give it a few weeks and you can make me the happiest girl alive! We can get married, move into a bigger place and finally add more kids to our family’ I whisper. Her huge grin was infectious as I lent in to kiss her once more.
Suddenly a doctor entered the room causing us to spring apart. He giggled, ‘Don’t mind me, I just wanted to say that you can go home but I want you to phone me straight away if there are any complications, there might be a slight pain until it heals and just be careful when doing any strenuous activity, any questions?’. I glanced from Kimberley, back to the doctor before smirking and asking; ‘What about sex?’. I felt Kim choke beside me and watched the doctors jaw drop, ‘Ugh, y-y-you should be ok, just go gentle’ he stammered before quickly exiting the room. I couldn’t contain my giggles, ‘Cheryl’ Kim screeched, ‘What?’ I asked innocently, ‘the look on his face was priceless’ I laughed. Kim just rolled her eyes, ‘I think you’ve just scarred him for life’ she snapped, ‘Doubt that ive scarred him, I mean that’s like hardly a bad image is it? I mean, me and you?’ I laughed out loud, ‘Cheryl! Im going to pretend that you didn’t just say that!’ Kim screeched before I pulled her down to my level and planted my lips on hers.
