Chapter 5

When Jackalen got in Isabelle's room Clary was brushing her wet hair.
" Hey go take a shower." Isabelle said.
When she got out of the shower it was 3. " Do you need to borrow some clothes?" Isabelle asked.
" No I have a dress." Jackalen said.
" Well get it on." Clary said.
" Not yet I need to brush and blow dry my hair."
" Ok can we listen to music I saw you bring in a radio." Clary said.
" Sure." Jackalen said as she plugged in her radio and listened to Wildest Dreams. Before it started to play she grabbed her brush and turned the radio louder. She sang along. " He said lets get out of this town drive out of the city away from the crowds I thought heaven can't help me now nothing lasts forever but this is going to take me down he's so tall and handsome as heak he's so bad but does it so well I can see the end as it begins, My one condition is say you'll you remember me standing in a nice dress staring at the sunset babe red lips and rosey cheeks say you'll see me again even if it's just in your wildest dreams ah ha wildest dreams ah ha I said no one had to to know what we do His hands are In my hair, his clothes are in my room and his voice is a familiar sound, nothing last forever but this is getting good now he's so tall and handsome as heak He's so bad but does it so well and when we've had our very last kiss my last request is." Then there was a knock on the door Jackalen turned the radio down. " Who is it?"
" Its Jace I need to talk to one of you."
" Just tell me through the door Isabelle is doing Clary's makeup and I am in a towel still. A smile came across Jace's Face.
" It is very important please."
" Fine." She said as she went outside she closed the door. Jace whistled.
" So it this is how your going to the party." He said sarcastically.
" Shut up. What do you want?"
" We are leaving in 2 hours."
" So that's all you wanted to tell me." She said as she turned back to the door. Jace grabbed her shoulder.
" I also have a question."
" What?"
" That song you were singing was it about me." Jace said with a smile.
"Yeah, no you wish." She said as she blew him a kiss. She went back inside.
" So what was so important?" Clary asked.
" We are leaving in 2 hours." Jackalen said.
" Ok go get change." Isabelle said.
" I am." Jackalen said. She went into the bathroom and put on a blood red strapless dress. It was tight around her waist and up and then fluffed out a little. It was a little higher than mid thigh.( Sorter than in the picture about an inch or two shorter than Clary's) She walked back into the room. " So do you like the dress?" She asked Isabelle and Clary.
" Wow." Was all they could say. Jackalen put her socks on. On one sock she put two bottles of holy water and a dager. The other her swords. Then she put her black boots on. She put hair up in a bun and put her stele in her bun. Once Clary was done with her makeup she put her hair up. Isabelle was choosing her shoes. She grabbed her makeup box and sat down on Isabelle's desk. Jackalen put on red lipstick and eye shadow. She put on blush. Isabelle was wearing a dark blue dress that was short. Clary was wearing a black dress with small straps. Jackalen put her finishing touches on.
" Lets go." Clary said as she walked outside. Isabelle and Clary walked side by side while Jackalen was in the behind them. They walked to the door and there was a mudane there with Alec and Jace. " Hey Simon." Clary said giving him a hug.
" Wow." Jace said and then whistled. As he saw Jackalen. She blushed.
"You look different."
" Just because I'm good at what I do doesn't mean that I can't get dolled up. " Well look at you." She said looking at Jace. He was wearing all black and looked really cute. He fix his hair to the side.
" Ok everyone looks good now lets go." Alec said. Simon and Clary walked out holding each others hands. Isabelle and Alec walked out next talking about what they would do if they ran into a Great Demon. Next Jace and Jackalen walked out. It was a beautiful night the stars were out and bright.
" So why do you need to leave before your birthday?" Jace said.
" So that Valentine can't kidnap me and hurt you guys." Jackalen said.
" He can't hurt us we've gone against him before. Please stay we need you on our team." He said as he thought. I need you in my life more than anything.
They were about two blocks down from the party. " Who is the host of the party?"
" Magnus Bane a friend of ours." Jace said.
" So where are your parents?"
" My parents are dead."
" Well they died heroes."
" Someone gets it finally."
" Gets what?"
" Gets how I'm not sad anymore but happy that they died heroes."
" Oh ok."
" Stay still really quick." Jace walked over to her they were close enough to kiss. " I told you that I like your hair down. " He said as he took her stele out of her hair and then took rest of the bun down.
" Jace." Jackalen said whining. " It took me 30 minutes to put my hair up."
" So I like it down you look nice."
" HURRY UP." Isabelle yelled waiting at a door.
" Coming" Jace yelled back. As he grabbed Jackalen's arm and ran over. Clary knocked.
" Hey Clary come in." Magnus said.
" Wait Jackalen." Jace said grabbing her arm turning her to face him. " Here your stele." He said giving it to her.
" Thanks."
" Who is she?" Magnus said looking at Jackalen.
" That is Jackalen she is new." Jace said. Jace went to find Alec and Isabelle and Jackalen followed.
" Hey where is Clary and Simon?" Jace asked Alec.
" Dancing." Isabelle said.
" So she needs to come talk to Magnus." Alec said. Someone came behind Isabelle a Werewolf.
" Do you want to dance?" The wolf asked Isabelle.
" No she doesn't." Alec said.
" Yes I do Alec. So then what is your name?" Isabelle asked as they walked off.
" Well so what are we going to do now while everyone is dancing." Jace asked.
" I don't care." Jackalen said as she grabbed a water.
" We can go dance." Jace said.
" What about me?" Alec said.
" What about you?" Jace asked.
" What am I suppose to do? Alec said.
" Go hang out with Magnus." Jace said as Alec blussed and walked off.
" Ok then lets go dance." Jace said grabbing Jackalen's arm
" But I don't like dancing." Jackalen said.
" Everyone likes to dance. Wait do you know how to dance?"
" Yes I do and I am good."
" Then lets go."
" Fine but we get do what I want after."
" Deal." Jace grabbed Jackalen's arm and took her to the dance floor. Just as a love slow dance came on.
" I rather dance to a non slow song."
" A deal is a deal. Or is it because you don't know how to dance to slow songs."
" I do."
" Then lets dance." Jace said as he put his arms around her waist. And Jackalen put her arms around his neck. They then saw Clary and Simon going to talk to Magnus.
Once the song was over Jace left Jackalen and ran over to Clary and Simon.
" Maybe Jace likes Clary and is using me to make her jealous." Jackalen whispered as she walked outside. When she was about a block away from the party she got a phone call. "Hello."
" Hey where are you?" Jace asked.
" I am walking back to the Institute."
" Alone."
" Yeah. Why?"
" Are you crazy a demon, downworlds, or forsaken can get you."
" I don't need anyone I can take care of myself."
" I'm coming."
" You don't have to I don't need you to protect me." She said as something picked her up with big hands, a forsaken giant.
" HEY PUT ME DOWN!"
" Jackalen are you ok."
" JACE HELP." She yelled in the phone before they took it away. This is going to be fun. She thought. She took one of her swords out.
" Hey give me that." One of the giants said as he grabbed the blade of the sword. He yelled in pain and fell on the ground. Jackalen then grabbed the sword and killed it. The other one came running and swung at her. Jackalen moved out of the way and it fell. She went over to it and was about to kill it when someone yelled.
" Jackalen watch out." Jackalen turned and saw Jace. She turned back to the giant. It had her other sword and was bringing it towards her. She did four back flips.
" FUDGE THAT HURT!" Jackalen yelled as someone caught her. It was Jace.
" The sword cut you." Jace said. He pulled out his stele and grabbed her arm and drew a healing ruin on her. She stood up when he finished.
" YOU ARE THE BIGGEST IDIOT I'VE EVER MEET! NOW YOU ARE GOING TO DIE." SHE YELLED BUT LAUGHED. She walked over but Jace grabbed her arm.
" He still has your sword."
" I know Jace I will go and grab the other out of the dead one. I'm not dumb and remember I don't need you to protect me." She hissed. And grabbed her sword. She went to the giant that was still alive and cut its head off. Jace went over to her. She put her swords back into her boot.
" I'm sorry Jace I didn't mean what I said I'm just so ughhhhhh." She said and turned around to find Jace's soft lips on hers.
