Chapter Seventeen

Bin zu lange nicht geflogen, wie ein Astronaut. -SIDO

I did not fly for a long time, like an astronaut.

This sentence echoes in my head, as I watch Sam get pushed into emergency surgery room.

I look after them, even after the doors close and the doctors get to work, I stand there, still, as if made from a rock.

Fin pats me on my shoulder.

"It's all going to be fine, Liv. Give Amanda and Melinda some break. They went trough hell." he says, but I can hear his pain.

"Yes, because of this man." I point at the surgery door. I feel the anger rise in me. "How is Rose doing?"

"She's okay." He sits onto the table in the waiting room. "Still adjusting to SVU." I smile.

"I just called her to come to Mercy Hospital. I hope she is on her way-" The door opens and a woman with golden hair and high cheekbones comes in. She rushes to the information.

"I am looking for Detective Amanda Rollins. I have been informed that she is here." Kim asks.

Fin breathes heavily and gets up, but I raise my hand in front of him. "Stop. You are a cop and violence for a cop like you is never good." I warn him.

Kim nods and turns around to see me. "Olivia!" She looks happy to see me. "Long time no see!" She pulls me into a hug. "I heard you found Amanda. Finally."

"Kim, you shouldn't be here." I exclaim and push her towards the door. "You are probably the least person she needs now."

"But I am her sister. You can't push me away, or-"

"Or what, Kim? You put your sister trough a lot. What are you gonna do? Call the cops? Oh, sorry, forgot. You were a fugitive. If I were on duty right now, I would have had your ass up in jail." I close the door behind her.

Fin walks towards me. "Good one." He pats me on my shoulder. "Good thing I didn't take her down- that wouldn't be a beautiful sighting."

The door opens once again behind me and I turn around, hoping it was not Kim again, but take a deep breath as I realize that it was just Rose.

"Was that Amanda Rollins? It looked like her but I thought it was early for her to leave the hospital so I came here anyway-" She starts, but I cut her off.

"It was her sister. I made her leave, because they don't have a nice history." I tell her.

"Oh." Is all she can say before a nurse approaches us.

"Is this the family of Detective Amanda Rollins?" She smiles shyly, that brings her blue eyes to shine.

"Yes, is something wrong?" Nick says from behind us, who comes with Carisi from a visit at Melinda.

"She is awake and stable. She is back to reality and is able to speak. Just be careful. Anything you say, can trigger her past and make her violent. Be careful." She turns around and gestures us to follow her.

Amanda's room is full with balloons, the moment we go in it. "I just want to know one thing." She says weakly.

"Anything, Mandy." Fin smiles at her.

"Why happened to Sam?"

The door opens from behind us and a miserable doctor greets us.

"I am sorry. We did everything to save Detective Sam Reynolds." He apologizes to us. "We lost him."
