Shion looked blankly at Nezumis face. He could not comprehend at all what he said.

Search list? Why...? Oh... that's why we ran away..

"You mean, it's because of the peacemakers back in your house?" Nezumi nodded. "Yeah, they tracked us down because of that call. Their alarms must've went off when that call was received in an underground place that wasn't on their map. I'm not blaming that girl or anything, because sooner or later they would've found out about me anyway."

Shion scowled at him, "why are they looking for you, though? Is it just because of that?" Nezumi walked over to the spot where Shion woke up, and sat right beside it. His back straight to the wall, his bag on his lap, and legs straight forward. He sighed, while closing, and reopening his eyes before saying, "See there's quite a bit to explain, and I hate explaining".

Shion followed him, and sat right next to him cross-legged, his face not too far away from the other boys'. Eagerly, he said, "please, tell me everything".

"Well," Nezumi started, "I'm gonna go from the beginning, but I do not repeat myself, so if you zone out, you lose out, okay?" Shion nodded, and Nezumi took a deep breath.

"Well," he started again, "When I was a small kid, I lived with my parents and sibling in a forest. As you probably don't know, I am one of the forest folk, and probably one of the last ones alive. One day, there was a huge fire, started by the 'peacemakers'.." he stopped for a second to snarl under his breath, "peacemakers my ass..." he coughed falsely, and continued. "They started that fire to get rid of my people for certain reasons.

Me, and this old granny were the only survivers, and as you know, we lived together in secret. We managed to do so because back then, no.6 didn't have those bracelets, or really any type of documentation on its citizens. Right now you're probably wondering what does this has to do with you, right?" Nezumi hesitated for a moment.

"Well, you see... the granny I lived with knows your mother, Karen." Shion squinted, trying to think if he ever saw an elderly woman who looked different then others. "You never met her, but your mother has."

"How? How would my Mom know any of the forest folks?" Nezumi hesitated once again. "I probably shouldn't be the one to say this, but.. your father was one of the forest folk".

Shion stared at Nezumi in disbelief. He got so confused at all this information. "What?" Nezumi shrugged, and said, "that's all that I know."

"Who are the forest folk exactly then?" Nezumi scratched his head, and clicked his tongue, "ugh, I honestly hate talking this much, but I suppose you do need to know. Well, we are a really old race of folk, who live in harmony with nature and the elements. Some folks are gifted, and can sing beautifully to keep peace with nature".

"So I am part of that race?" Shion asked, still slightly confused about what was being said to him. "Uh, yeah, but only half. Your mother is normal."

I never met my dad... so I assume he also died along with his family when the peacemakers arrived? It probably was too painful for my mom to discuss it..

"But how do the peacemakers know I'm involved? They probably discovered who you were because of the basement, but what about me?" Nezumi looked straight into Shions eyes, and said, "well first of all, the call was to you, and you were in that basement."
